A new thread should probably be started for the new year, but this is just as good a place as any, I guess. The world got a little less silly, Terry Jones of Monty Python passed away at 77.
IM NOT DEAD YET........ but I didn't see it mentioned but WWE HOF Rocky Johnson passed away recently (The Rocks dad for those who may not know the name)
Bit of neglect and indecision on my part there. I wasn't sure whether to continue the 2020 passings here or to start another thread.
Agreed. To continue: Kirk Douglas passed away Feb 5, 2020 at the age of 103. I wasn't aware that he was still alive up to this point. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/05/movies/kirk-douglas-dead.html
Two more actors of note. Robert Conrad, star of the Wild Wild West TV series. Orson Bean, character actor but notable for providing the voice of Bilbo Baggins in the 1977 animated version of The Hobbit.
I was shocked at Orson Bean passing away. He was 91 and was hit by a car. No other details have been released yet. I loved Wild Wild West. It was a western for those who didn't like westerns. And was kind of steam punk before there was such a thing.
Been a bit neglectful, and there's been a few of note. Kazuhisa Hashimoto, creator of the Konami code. Katherine Johnson, NASA mathematician and one of the women used as inspiration for the movie Hidden Figures. Sy Sperling, founder of the Hair Club for Men.
Funny thing for me, despite his long and varied career in films, I'm always going to identify him with the first two films I saw him in: Flash Gordon (he played Ming the Merciless) and Strange Brew (Brewmeister Smith). Gotta love the random nature of 80's films.
Lyle Waggoner, mainstay of The Carol Burnett Show and Steve Trevor on Wonder Woman. Stuart Whitman, Hollywood actor
Stuart Whitman rules. He was in EVERYTHING during the 1960-1970's. I checked the IMDB and he has 189 different acting roles listed. He played Jonathan Kent on the 1980's TV show Superboy.
