Here is what I think we need to see in the world of DCUO Why not put Bounties on Villains and Heroes (not in game characters, actual online players) Do some evil around Metropolis or Gotham to activate a Bounty on you. The more evil you do, the higher the bounty will be set. Heroes then need to track you down to receive a high cash payout. Same with Heroes. Do too much good in the world, and Villains will be assigned to track you down and put an end to you. Posters of your actual Hero/Villain will be put up in every Police Station or Club for all to see I think this may bring some fun back into playing in open world. What do you guys think?
Don't we already kinda have something like that? But to your idea I wouldn't mind an more dept system of the one in game already. Kinda like an arch nemesis from the other fraction.
Been asked for. SWG had a player bounty system. If you beat someone in a duel, that player could then choose to put a bounty on you. The downed player chose the cash reward and paid for it out of their own pocket. I don't remember the exact details, but I think there was a bounty board where you chose a name to hunt. Also, when you did find the person, your PvP flag automatically went up (I think just for the two involved). It was cool to catch someone totally off guard. Problem here is, no one spends time out in the world
When do people actually spend time outside their league halls, personal bases, and HQ? Also since most players gave up on pvp because of how broken it is, I doubt players would do it. Since your idea is limited to the open world it makes it even harder. The player bounty system mission we have now at least lets you use kills in arenas as part of the bounty. But the priority would have to be to fix pvp first and foremost and that will only happen after they complete pve power balance
Id like to be able to become boss strong and be a bounty that could run a muck on the opposing faction. They would need to group up and address the guy running around doing damage. Seems fun to me. At tier though one guy vs 8 well it would take lknger 2 get to the bounty then kill his
I personally love this idea and have mentioned this a long while ago. I think it would really put a charge of excitement back into the game, bring excitement and fun back to open world, and it can be done relatively easily where if you commit X amount of villains/heroic acts your PVP flag is set to on no matter what phase you're in and the other faction gets to hunt you down for a bounty reward. This is something that makes absolutely perfect sense to be in a comic MMO game and something apart from regular PVP events. The DEVs should seriously consider this...
