Been gone since Halls of power 1 is all the new stuff worth coming back?

Been gone since then debating on coming back will I have tons of new content now that I've been gone a year and is it worth it?

I think so. I was very put off by GU47 and many of the changes that came with it. Since then, each update has addressed most, if not all, of the glaring concerns I had. Rewards are back in "Irrelevant" content! (Always hated that term, why couldn't they have said, "Out of Window" or "Below CR" why'd they have to say "Irrelevant?") The new additions to the Lockboxes have made it exciting again to get a Lockbox! The Loot Picker is another amazing improvement to the end content of the game. Now, you have a choice in what rewards you'll be getting! The Legends PvE maps and weekend events keep the game from getting stale and give players an easier and fun way to build up some SP. Monthly content releases are also greatly helping the game feel fresher longer. Now, by the time the instances you have start to get stale, you have more dropping a few days later.
Power fixes have been another huge deal which has helped breath life into the game. They are really doing a fabulous job at bringing balance to the Powersets. Now, granted, we're not at 100% balance just yet, but it is coming. I'll think we'll finally be there by the end of the year!

I don't think anyone can really make that decision for you. We do not know what type of content you enjoy, whether you'd enjoy the new combat mechanics, etc. If you really want to find out, I would recommend either subscribing for a month to test the waters (assuming you have a disposable income to do so) or playing the free content for a while to see if you like the combat changes.

I would look up a list of the episodes that were added to the game after you left, and see if they're things you're interested in playing. It really feels like not much has majorly changed, to be honest, aside from Advanced Mechanic changes and bombshell skins. But that's just because I'm not looking at the whole picture at the moment. I'm still drinking my late morning coffee.

I liked it all I've played since the beginning I just haven't been in the loop for literally a year since my kid was born plus I just wanted to play some new games so I took a break now it sounds like fun again to play since there's alot of new content to jump into instead of one new dlc every 4 months but I'm into everything pvp to pve and everything between just wanna know if the game will feel fresh or if it will feel th exact same

Just jump right in and try it. A lot of changes were made and if you just want to test it without spending money, there are still some major changes that you will see in the game play.

I would say definitely so then. There's a ton of new content since HoP1. I had taken about a 6 month break after WoTL2 and it was fun to come back and see how much was there. You'll have even more to enjoy

I personally enjoy the game. I have not had any reason to go for the door and enjoy AFII, HOPII, etc. There are issues in the details, but if fun is what you seek, then jump in.

Since HoP I dropped the following eposides (previously called DLC) have dropped.

War of the Light II
Amazon Fury II
Halls of Power II

After Halls of Power content is now being dropped monthly. We got the Bombshell eposide in August and we are closing in on the next monthly eposide release early September.

Other changes since you left.

Marks of Triumphs is removed and all playes now earn Marks of Victory You earn MoV based on the content that is relevant to you, this is determined by CR. Playing irrelevant content that does not earn MoV for you still provides an award, sometimes you are very lucky and can get 1 MoV on a boss, most of the time it is another reward that you can use or for your league.

Mods: This changed in GU47 as well, mods no longer impact CR. CR is determined by gear and gear alone. It is still highly recommended to mod your gear to be the best you can be in your role.

Since you were around when HoP I was launched you may have heard of the DPS side of the game where all powers were getting Advance Mechanics. They now all have it; what is going on with them currently is balancing. There are three phases to this and right now we are closly approaching the end of phase 1.

In December or November timeframe they started Legend PVE instance; these allow you to use your legend toons in a PVE instance. The instances are set for about a month and on the weekends they bring back and older instance for players wishing to complete some feats or to get some extra legend marks.

You also may noticed many player talking about Game Update 47. Please go read the notes from GU47-GU51. This will let you know what has happened to the game and where we are today.

I recommend coming back and trying out the mechanic changes that GU47 brought and than go from there.
