Now that they are giving each power their own awesome mechanics so they can "keep up" with HL rage and celestial it makes me wonder what the remaining powers will get. So the question is, what do you guys think the other awesome mechanics for other powers will be? I'll go first.. What we know so far HL, celestial, rage - combo system Nature - refreshing of dots through harvest, swarm ( should have been the shapeshifting form changes IMO ) Sorcery - superpowered fury Electric - voltaic bolt interactions Earth - superpowered crystal ( should have been aftershocks/combos IMO ) Remaining powers Quantum - 60% modifier (forgot name) ? Gadgets - turret pet? Mental - mass terror? Fire - fire burst or mass det? Ice - ice armor? What do you guys think?
Those are all wrong. Those powers don't have a mechanic yet. I'm more interested tho in why you think those "mechanics" you guessed were simillar to the official mechanics of the other powers. Many powers have a 60% modifer Turret is not on par with Fury or Crystal Mass Terror is a power, not a mechanic Many Powers have cast time moves Ice armor is basically a PI. But I can see how the Devs can get lazy and morph it into the mechanic

Dude I was never saying that these were the awesome mechanics of these powers, what I'm saying is that this is what I believe the devs will look at and buff turning them into an awesome mechanic for the power set. Please reread my thread before you assume I am saying these powers already have an awesome mechanic. The remaining powers need a lot of help keeping up with others If they aren't using wm and am simply staying what I think the devs will buff in the future. Gadgets should have the turrent changed to a robot or, cyborg. With handblasters or, rifle for weapon. Let it keep the same powers it's got I can't think of any.
wm combos do more damage than any hl combo, so hl has not the 'combo mechanic' anymore....why do you do hl combo when you can do more dmg doing wm? with wm, hl combos have become useless...i hate this...hl was a power apart, funny and different...once. anyway all powers have become based on wm (nature and sorcery too...though they don't get the crit bonus)... my mass detonation dmg is weak compared to wm, i use it just for the 60% bonus...and i don't like this so...mechanic? wm now is the dps mechanic
Yes, and Celestial is right there with HL. Although, at least HL didn't have the devs outright state that HL would benefit the least from WM like they did with Celestial. Even still, Celestial has an awesome workaround and that is our low-cost weapon/precision buffs; Benediction and Anoint. While this pretty much turns Celestial into a 'weapon-only' class, it manages to keep it viable in the current WM era.
I think that for quantum, quantum tunneling has to be in some way related to the awesome mechanic. Why? Cuz it was makes quantum stand out Our stuns are nice, but tunneling its so much fun. Maybe we could get a "quantum tunneling" like power instead of "lift" Launches an attack to another dimension to get a critical damage right after you finish attacking your enemy". example: you use the new power and you wont see the damage till you stop attacking or get interrupted. That wat you have a "safety" damage going in, scaling with the amount of damage you did without being interrupted.
I can't say for certain but I think there might be a few "awesome mechanic" archetypes that the powers will fall into. There's the combo powers, the pet powers, and the strong DoT powers. There might be other archetypes but so far all of the powers with "awesome mechanics" fall into these three categories. I suspect, and I hope I'm wrong, that the rest of the powers will likely fall into one of the archetypes as well, rather than each one getting a truly unique mechanic. Now for my crazy predictions. Fire will become a strong DoT power like Nature. Some of the moves will inflict and/or spread a powerful DoT similar to Burning, but amped up to 11. Ice will have its Ice Armor mechanic expanded upon and that will become a fourth awesome archetype: the Stacking type. Wherein using certain moves gives you stacks of [something] that make you stronger temporarily. Gadgets will almost certainly become a Pet power. Hopefully something cool like a flying Rifle that will still help set up PI's, but also do great damage. Quantum will be another Stacking power. You'll build up stacks of time stuff or something and it will cause your attacks to echo, or deal a portion of their damage again a second after the initial hit impacts. Mental will also be a Stacking type. This would give us 3 powers for each of the 4 archetypes. Which satisfies my mild OCD. Yay. No idea what the stacks would be though, or what kind of bonus would best suit Mental.
I pugged the triton alert today, no troller. I literally did the whole alert with rifle WM combos. Only time I used a power was for snap trap so I can get the 50% modifier! oh and snap trap with the WM crit was barely hitting for 1k. Very big waste of time and dps to use HL powers with WM.
