An instantly JCed plasma wretch will not cancel rage crash... I'd log in to double check, but ps4 is down atm. I remember after the new changes to jump canceling I tested this quite a bit though. Not to mention that Rage has to first take 100% of damage before 25% is healed back. When the rage player is at 10% health, this method of damage absorption can be the deciding factor in winning and losing. And in a perfect world your scenario is fine but it is still a much more inferior option than just using a shield and uses more resources to do the same thing as a shield, especially when many shields offer a breakout and no risk of it canceling. That said, I can't wait for the new season!
just leave him, hes clueless. Either way, something needs to be done for rage tanks to help them. Hopefully this update wont come out before a fix happens
Guess Bloodlust over Plasmic retch then. Pretty sure Galling would work too. But the problem is Ice has a damage cap on its shield and it can be broken. Rage not so much. Fun fact: The first wave of SM was soloed by DM with a rage tank. If you need to know how to cancel a crash properly in midst of a situation just ask him..
Just a few things to note. I do think Brick will be quite useful for pvp after the update, but keep in mind that you can get immunity off of him. Also, now that we see that Remorseless Recovery was left alone I think it more than makes up for you still having to deal with rage crash. I was countering people on test for well over 5000 damage. Think about it, after the update you can spec to be a damage tank with mods and each counter will be healing you for over 5k a pop with Remorseless Recovery. Also, Rage dps will probably still be a pain to take down, especially without debuffs.
Could be wrong here but if a "good" rage is trying to prevent his rage crash wouldn't he just use E chain? You don't need to go into the second part to prevent RC. Get your timing down with breakouts when its about time to prevent RC and you're the closest thing to invincible right?
^ Bingo. Ice believes it is blockable. When the power is not blockable and still will migate damage. [Just so he understands clearly and will not attempt to misquote me, the power is not blockable the combo is]
Ice's reflect has a base absorption of 10k + 100% of dom +100% of resto Lets be very modest with our numbers, for example, ice tank only has 1000 dom and 4000 resto unmodded, (new season gear has much more dom than that in tank role) So now reflect absorbs 15,000 damage. In the new season with shields only absorbing 25%, that means that you will need to inflict 60,000 damage before you break that shield. Chances are that the shield will wear off before it reaches it's damage cap. Are we really going to use that argument that shields have a damage cap? Even more of a fun fact: Only two tanks have ever completed survival mode. The 13usiness and Immortal, both of them are Ice tanks. But why are we bringing up PVE?
1. Thank you for using numbers, it brings joy to me to see someone using logical evidence once in a while. 2. 4k resto for tank gear?. If you have a link to the full stats that would be much appreciated. 3. Its the matter of principle, it is highly unlikely someone being able to pull off 60k damage off. Ice tanks are based of stats the higher the stats the better it is, Rage tanks are based upon damage out put and input the more combat around you the better. 4. What is your view on this? Do you want a buff for rage tanks if so how?
1. thanks and you're welcome 2. this is a link to full stats, remember, all roles gets the same base stats, this is unmodded gear and I'm pretty sure tanks and trollers still get a 100% dom boost, so double the dominance you see there. https://twitter.com/SoreDCUO/status/501766712635953153/photo/1 3. I'd argue that it's a matter of principle that Rage still has to cancel out the same thing ice can do by simply popping a shield or Earth with having Brick 4. Good question, no buff. They can make it so that you don't have to cancel, but then that wouldn't be rage. I'm more of pointing out an imbalance rather than asking for a buff. I would request that instead of taking 100% of the damage first and then being healed 25%, that Rage just takes 75% of the damage. That would make Rage equal in low health situations. For example, Rage has 2k health left with RA up. If it gets hit for 2k damage the rage player will die before the 500 health can be returned. In the same situation with ice or earth, they will both still have 500 health left with their shield or brick up.
up the dom to about 1870 while in tank role and we're looking at about 48,000 damage absorbed from reflect alone. Thanks for the correction
Speaking as a rage tank myself but if they leave remorseless recovery as it is right now im ok with only healing 25% of incoming damage while enraged, i even find it OP. Not to mention Celestial healer, with those DoTs, 5k resto and malediction/benediction there will be some imbalances right there. Maybe the only thing i dont like is the nearly 0 difference on going in tank stance vs dps stance, just the health buff, maybe a proper solution would be to leave the rage crash heals at 50% instead at 25% and remorseless recovery at 50% of damage deal instead of 100%.
Lol so much rage over rage. Can anyone on test check out ice and fire? Is fire healing capped? I know ice is capped at 25% but is that in both dps and tank stance? Is the shield capped at 25% so no consideration on dom levels? If so seems like alot of ice tanks in dps mods running around lol.
Fire healing is weak enough, If they make it 25%, I will prob be able to heal off 500 health by using 4 powers..
Idk why this is acting up but I was saying that because rage tanks have to use 2 powers for healing ( instead of one like the other tanks), while in rage mode you should heal 50% of the damage you take. To make rage tank not OP though, the healing from remorseless recovery should be taken down to 50%.
