Are we fanboys? Or do we see a good thing?

I love this game. I really do! It's the only game out there with Superman!

It's the only game out there that embraces the DC Universe!

Yet some out there have called me blindly loyal to this game. Blindly loyal to each and every thing the Devs put out there. Some actually hate me because I love this game!

I find this strange. I really do not understand this mindset.

It's a game. It's a game I love playing. It's a game I have invested a lot of time in. Why does that make me bad?

Sorry. I'm going to bed. But It's something that has bothered me for quite some time. Please chime in with whatever thoughts you have on this issue.

    Upon the morrow, shipmates.

You are a lot like myself, Feenicks: you don't blindly follow the devs, you agree with them and appriciate them. Other people, however, will blindly argue with them just to get a reply from a dev. They just want to be the center of attention and they cannot stand it when someone inadvertently becomes the center of attention just for appriciating the devs and liking their ideas. If you look at society, people do the same thing. They complain about the most random things, especially when it comes to the government or even racism. People see it as racist if you call a black man 'black' but they are wrong. I wanted to post a gif of the Joker saying "One black man shoots up an apartment full of white men because he is racist and no one bats an eye, but one white man shoots a black man for no particular reason, and everyone loses their minds!" but I can't get on the meme website. But you get the point.

Most of your "haters" don't understand that those of us who truly enjoy this game acknowledge what's wrong with the game but choose to embrace the positives while trying to "fix" the negatives we find in DCUO. This game will never be perfect but the least we can do for the fun experience is help make it as best as it can be.

There has been games I did not enjoy......EO comes to mind. But my response to those games was.....POOF.....gone!

I really love this game though. And I proudly say so. And I proudly give reasons for that love.

It's a game. Games are for fun. I have fun here. Why the hate?

The devs are never right, and if you agree with even one thing they say or do you're a dirty no good fan-boy...puckered up so close that nobody can tell where you end and they begin.

That seems to be the mentality at least.

I enjoy DCUO for the most part...possibly due to the fact that I'm not good or astute enough to pick up on the major flaws. Or it could very well be because I play for enjoyment and couldn't give the hairy crack of a rats **** about the scoreboard or which weapon / power is flavour of the month and needs a nerf.

I am exactly the same way. I actually got banned for five days because someone reported me after I expressed my positive opinions about the game and its support roles. Granted, it was because of a post I accidently posted... where I expressed my opinions of the other person in a rather blunt fasion, but you understand. It was the thread in Gotham about support roles. I was simply stating that I agree with the devs and it turned into a big mess.

I'm pretty sure I'm a closet Fanboy. I criticize the Deys almost every time They make dumb choices imo. But even I know, I will probably never willingly leave the game

    <_< >_>

...you know, I heard a rumour that a water power was being introduced...but they have to get rid of fire so the PS3 can handle it...

I'm a fanboy and I see good things.

However, I also see less-than-good things from time to time. When those kinds of things worry me, I express that concern in the most respectful manner that I can while still maintaining whatever emotional response inspired me to criticize the situation. Not everybody does so, and some cries are far more emotional than others. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate ... and so on.

You know, I seem to remember an occasion when even you were contemplating leaving the game, my fiery friend. (Skill Point sharing?) You eventually reconsidered (thankfully), but I think it's a sign of a great game when we get emotional about it. We care. But of course that emotion can cut both ways - both positive and negative. Sounds like you're dealing with people who are experiencing more of the latter.

It comes down to this: one can be loyal without being blind. It's the basis of all good relationships because it's based in truth. It's easy to stay loyal when everything's going your way, after all. ;)

Honestly, I myself tend to see the bigger picture. I realize that not every thing that the devs do is going to make me personally happy, but I genuinely believe they have the games best interest and long term longevity at heart.

I also have this bad habit of using logic. See what is intended and what the desired outcome is suppose to be. I imagine you suffer from a similar affliction. It seems to be counter to many forum users tendency to "but I wants it and I wants it now".

For all the faults or issues I have with the game, there's a reason I always stick around and generally have a good time,

Some people are never going to be happy, but i think for most of us, the game delivers what we want to find in a game.....

Besides, no other game has had me invest this much time, money and effort.

i'm a fanboy. comic books first with dc at the forefront.

i don't know what this game would be like to me if you took out all the "DC" and replaced it all with generic super types. I might have grown bored and quit years ago. I gave Champions a quick try a few months back and again...if this game didnt exist it might have captured my interest but as it is its nothing but a pale imitation when you get to play in the DCU alongside the Justice league, the Titans and the JSA.

Im kind of an anti fanboy.

Knowing what the game could be and should be blinds me from alot of the positives.

I love DCUO so much but whenever im online and think about the immense potential the game has and how much content its missing , it literally hurts me inside.

I just want to see the game as it should be , even for just a demo video.

No PS3 holding it back aswell. Just PS4/PC power behind it.

    One day ;)

I guess that makes me a fan-girl then, because I love this game. We don't have to applaud everything the devs do, but there's nothing wrong with appreciating their hard work either.
