Appropriate response to a undergeared in the raid

Hey, I figure it this way - 'You're not doing your job' is a valid complaint.

I think we are slipping from lack of stuff to lack of gameplay. The same subject by no means :s

If they do their job then its a null question. Sure they may be down on numbers but that is what that is.

If they contribute to the team, do good positioning, completing objectives, pickups that kind of thing then that puts them ahead of one segment of the player population immediately, regardless of CR.

A somewhat weaker DPS can be handled, same with a secondary troll. With the single heal/tank however that can be a raid breaker. If we had a weaker toon in those roles I'd be prepared to give it a go (or three) but sometimes you have to accept that someone simply isn't strong enough. If they had enough skill to overcome the CR deficit then I'd probably add them to my friends list because they can only get stronger.

@requake the 50% troll numbers is generally for two equal vit trolls, with a 108 maybe having 3600 and a 104 at around 2800 thats an 800 difference, unless the primary troll is very lazy the secondary troll is going to be nowhere near that 50% marker

Fits right in with all those that ask for others to have 110CR with 190SP.... but only have 100CR and 50SP themselves.

Yeah it is annoying.... not so much to see people lie.... although that is a bit annoying..... but to see them ask for requirement that they don't even meet themselves.

Although it is getting harder for people to lie now that we have access to the starts of everyone.
People should wise up and realise that now we can just look up their characters on the various apps.

The irony here is that someone complains that people with the same gear as him are "undergeared".

I've never lied about my CR or SP. So that why i ask

Hard to really have an answer as to why they feel the need to lie.

There could be a bunch of reasons.

But ultimately the main reason is probably to make things easier for themselves by running content with overgeared players??

Maybe the under geared player didn't have AF? Premiums need only buy every other DLC. If so Vestments would be the best available to them. Breach is just as bad as the raids. Really ICW is their only shot not to get kicked, but if they're new and just reached T6, they don't know that yet.

I don't think I've ever initiated a kick & I've rarely voted yes, but if someone is detrimental to the group, it's totally justified. Personally I wouldn't use gear as my only determining factor, but others are free to do as they want.

Do you ever check the people who are doing only adequately? We rarely do. And yet, there could be plenty of people who can outperform their gear, but still not be able to perform exceptionally due to their reduced stats. You shouldn't turn your nose up to those people, trying to sniff out the rotten ones. In fact, they may be the alt of an exceptional player.

The 90 level gear is actually already more than is necessary. The devs had devised it so that Art and Necro could be played and completed by decent players with full 88 gear and a couple of 93 drops. It was part of their whole small DLC big DLC plan that they've now modified. I went straight from Origin Crisis to Halls of Power. I don't feel I was being carried; I tanked and solo-healed pugs without a problem from the very first week premiums could get it ... difficult roles to carry. Granted, I was ice tanking and nature healing, which people look down upon as "easy mode," but that's not my point. My point is that looking at someone's CR, or their SP, is not a clear determination of how well they will perform. It doesn't tell you how well they know their powerset, how long they've really been playing the game, or any number of things that factor into that assessment.

Do what you've been doing. Identify the weak link, if there is only one, try to see if you can help that person perform better. If they don't listen, kick them without a fight and add them to ignore. If they do listen, say look, it's nothing personal, but we need to get someone in here that can help us ... we'd be happy to run some alerts with you sometime to help you L2P and gear up for the raids ... then kick them.

If the group you are running with is undergeared, excuse yourself and form your own group using the LFG.

yes. of course. that's exactly what CR is for.

if it says 106 it's designed to be beaten by a group of 106s minimum -- it's supposed to be challenging for that group. but, do-able. all content is balanced around a group of players with the minimum CR to enter playing together. the higher your CR, the easier it gets for each player. that's why the community demands unrealistic CRs for content -- because the content is too difficult for most people individually. overgearing let's a player compensate for lack of ability.

[spoiler alert] it's all designed this way. you didn't really think they balanced the content around a group of players who over gear the content did you?

complaining that the content is too difficult when playing with min CR players = saying the content is too difficult for you. period.

i've been playing since the beginning and i've completed all content in the game as it came out.

Yesterday, I pugged the new content, duo and alerts.

In two of them, I got a healer geared enough to run it, without any HoT power.

At first, I thought it was a "battle healer", but they were doing almost no damage...

The tanks were healing more than the healer...

If you are putting together the group, and they don't meet your requirements for content however excessive or lax they are, simply say so, treat them with dignity and respect and remove them from the group.

If it is not your group suck it up or leave, no explanation needed.

People will still rail against you don't get sucked in.

Couldnt agree more Mr. Stoon, however as I know you are very well aware, most players don't want to hear that. Gear up properly ? Preposterous !!!

I dont play to ensure others are at top tier, I play to get my characters to end-game nothing else. I will however help friends or league-mates that actually have tried to get to end-game, get to end-game content. Other wise no, they need to apply themselves more and try harder.

most importantly stop the tier skipping, and learn their roles better

at times this is true, but at others it isn't sadly least not with the DLC we have gotten recently.

look at Amazon fury 1, I have swtiched power idk how many times on my main through out that DLC, 1 was ice tank, and didn't have any gear saved nor marks, so I was in T2.5 from central city, and t4 gear lol

was running themyscira divided daily with 0 deaths. 75% of the runs were 30 minutes and 1 1 1 1 set ups.

again the knowledge of the instance helped me be able to tank it in such low gear, but I do agree 100% the better gear you the easier it gets "usually", some ppl just are reckless and reckless is the key factor in ppls death, regardless their gear.
