Anybody else experiencing Client-crashes lately?

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about but just in case.
You can get out of window mode. alt + enter moves you in and out of windows mode.

After that, If going in and out of windows mode screws up your screen resolution.
You can fix it / revert it back to what it was in.............................. settings/video/screen resolution.

What I was saying is that if we play in full screen mode and we get the client crash report we are stuck. You can't never click on the Close or Done button on the client crash report because the DCUO client will hide it essentially. However, if you are in windowed mode you can close the client crash report. Thus, we are almost forced to play in windowed mode unless the player wants to do a forced restart of their PC by CTRL+ALT+DEL.

I just hope that these kinds of consistent instabilities gets sorted out somewhat before the next Episode hits live. Not looking forward to new content if i'm going to be at risk of randomly crashing out of nowhere, at any time..

I play in windowed mode specifically because of these exact issues/ symptoms you explained. I hated being forced to restart my pc each time it crashed.

You don't have to restart your machine to get out of the crash report freeze. In Windows, do a control-alt-delete to bring up the Task Manager and options and you can just sign out of Windows and sign back in; this is still annoying, but much less time-consuming than doing a full restart.

In recent times, I've stopped signing out of the game; I just wait for another crash and take a break/quit then. It's that frequent. No pattern that I've yet noticed, either.

Just had another crash happening during the last boss of Throne. So fun to try and play the game when there's a random crash waiting to happen at any given moment, that is completely out of my own control.

Ever since the Artifact XP Event went live last weekend, the game has been consistently crashing for me atleast twice per day. Before that event went live, I barely had any Crashing issues, not even close to what I'm currently experiencing.

If this issue is still around by the time the next Episode comes out, the new content will basically be unplayable for those of us experiencing crashes this frequently. Unless, of course every run you're in is with leaguemates/friends that are kind enough to wait for you to restart your game, log back in and get invited back to the group in time to collect your loot every single time. Utterly ridiculous.

I'm not even sure how to enter Windowed Mode. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Fortunately for me I play on a gaming laptop that runs off a SSD drive. I can fully restart my computer within 30 seconds or so. However, your work around is much more ideal for those who would have to wait for a couple minutes to restart everything.

Was just playing last night now I keep getting this during the crash report

I did find that option later on but opted for the windowed mode which was quicker and for some reason for me reduced some crashing.

Sure, just go to that option that says fullscreen and turn that off. You will get a border on the sides but what I did was to change the color of my PCs borders to a very dark grey (almost black, windows wont allow a full black color setup) and that eliminated any awkward bright color distractions between my borders/game screen so it all blends in well.

Ahhh, OK. I see what you are saying but,.......
You can still get out of full screen during the crash and you can get out of game even when you Ctrl+Alt+Del without restarting your PC.

When you do crash.
When you first notice it happening ( the screen will stutter a bit )
Right then you can click ( alt+enter ) and go windows mode from full screen.
Then you can close DC without a restart.
Even if you need to Ctrl+ALt+Del because your screen is stuck.
You can close game without a PC restart.

When you Ctrl+Alt+Del........
R click on the DC process using the most memory within the Task manager / processes window. A window will pop up from there and you will see.......end process tree. Click that.
That will close DC from there.
No need to restart your PC and you only have to relaunch DCUO.

The black bars can be fixed from windows.
Go control panel / screen resolutions

Set 1600 x 900
landscape

Make sure that you save ( Apply ) the settings in windows. If not,
DCUO will screw it up again and you will have the black bars the next time you play.

That should do it as far as the black bars goes.

THEN............

When you go Alt+Enter to go win mode and then Alt + Enter to go back full screen.
If that screws up your resolution and or your hud. You can click esc once or twice and that will bounce your hud back xD. I usually go to settings from there anyway but if I'm in a hurry I just deal with the lower resolution until I have a few seconds to straighten it out.

When you get back into game and need to fix resolution
Go settings / video tab / resolution
set 1600 x 900 there and save.

That should take care of your black bars and that funky lower DCUO resolution caused from going back & forth to windows mode.

It screws my screen resolution up every time going back & forth.

Alt + Enter will move you back & forth from windows mode in game.

If you get black bars...... read above and that should fix it.

I did have one crash today. The first one in a couple weeks. USPC While zoning in after character change.

No i purposely color my "windowed" view bars/border as black (dark grey) to kinda get the fullscreen mode without being in fullscreen. Resolution is not an issue. Since I noticed the pc client crashed a bit more and was a hassle to close with fullscreen, coloring my border as dark as possible to make it kinda invisable and using windowed view was my solution/workaround.

Had 3 this weekend.

Add to that, Saturday night the ingame lag was ridiculous. Most of my league and myself ended up playing other games. This was not a PSN or on my end. I jumped on Borderlands 2 and had no issues. Was in a PSN chat, no issues.

Not for nothing, but these issues are game breaking for me. There are other games out there that are not experiencing these issues. I worried the new DLC will be dropped with current instability issues. Joy.

Three times yesterday, twice already today. The frequency seems to be increasing. It's very frustrating. I try to write everything I was doing at the time of the crash, but filling in that form gets old when I'm literally just moving around my base when the crash happens.

I'm also experiencing severe lag in game. I'm not sure whether it's just me or if it is the game.

I am running on a gaming PC, had my internet line checked recently, and every other game is running great. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Edit: this has just started happening in the last week or two.

EUPS4. Had multiple crashes, when trying to enter a base. I don't have a picture, but it's the gothic themed lair, near Amusement Mile in Gotham. It's on a higher level, above a coffee shop. There's a briefing outside, sometimes Trigon's demons, and a guy with data and metrics. I've tried entering the base with two different characters, on two different accounts, on two different Playstations.
