So I been away from the game for a minute. I think the Darkseid episode was out last time I played because I remember trying to get that Gotham outlaw.

So if you see something in this post factually incorrect just pretend you didn't.

I been wondering about the villains and how their goals far as I can tell for the most part align with the heroes when some bigger bad shows up.

About this, my thing is how many times are you gonna be on the side of the angels before you're just an angel yourself?

Besides the dark lighting and grumpy dispositions what makes the villains villainous?

Now don't get me wrong it's not a constant thing but it's definitely more so than not.

I remember setting cops on fire in jokers funhouse, now that did feel pretty villainous.

This has come to be something I've coined the vegeta/piccolo dilemma. Where the villains ultimately end up becoming or seeming like just grumpy heroes.

Is there a course correction for this? I dunno. This is just my observation/thoughts on the matter.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

As a Villain, Go Justice Girls Dark! Ebil! I find we are more like anti-heroes now. Taylor Swift wrote a song about us lol. :)

The actions taken on missions are pretty much the same, but the "why" behind the actions usually gets revealed through the NPCs you deal with or any comm messages you get with/during an episode. And that is really where the differences between factions gets put on display.

With some episodes or content you get a little more separation when you take the actions, best example I can think of being Doomed Metropolis in the Death of Superman content. The actions you take for either faction are basically identical, but as a villain you get different interactions with civilian NPCs on one mission than you do as a hero. But overall? The differences come in with why we're taking the same exact actions on missions whether we're heroes or villains.

I can understand it being frustrating or irritating, but between the time constraints on getting content out at the rate players are accustomed to and (to a lesser extent) the more action-oriented nature of the game sometimes stuff like that will be put on the chopping block, so to speak. Going deeper into the differences between factions would just end up taking more time to get content out to players (and we ARE an impatient lot LOL) and with many just wanting to get to the "pew-pew-punch-kick" part fast the significant factional differences can end up taking a backseat.
