So my days of being at a comic books store every release day and buying every book I could and being up to date on almost every piece of info on comics, are well behind me, so this is a big shock.

The day Marvel Heroes launched, I signed up and played for maybe an hour, then never played it again but I am still on their email list.

Just a few minutes ago I did the rare thing of actually looking at my email (was checking to see if DGC sent a reason for a deletion, they didn't) and among the unopened mail was one from MH. Upon opening it, there it was, a big picture of Angela. It's a promo for her upcoming availability in the game.

First thoughts. Is that the Angela and what part of hell froze over for a McFarlane character to be apart of Marvel?

A quick search and yes it is her and Neil Gaiman caused the freeze.

Having only the Wikipedia telling of her history to go on, I cant really tell if her being in Marvel is a good or bad thing. I was/am a big fan of that Spawn era, having a ton of the books and most of the toys and was even a member of the club McFarlane had back then, so I really hope Angela didn't get messed up by Marvel.

What annoys me with the game concerning Angela is some of the comments from the other characters, in particular Black Widow: she basically treats a literal angel as a naïve child who doesn't know True Evil, sounds more to me Nat is trying to justify her actions in the face of a representative of God (as opposed to Thor, who she would rather bone if it wasn't for the fact she is riding the green salami)

Yeah, it floored me as well. Oh, the politics of comics......

Marvel literally could do anything with Angela and it would probably be better than what McFarlane could do without Gaiman or Moore as writers.;) In the MU, she is portrayed as the daughter of Freya and Odin, she wisbelieved to have died but secretly kidnapped and raised by the Angel Queen of the Tenth Realm long ago. And what is this Tenth Realm? It's a previously unheard of realm that was banished by Odin after a long conflict with them.

Ah Angela. This is what happens when you co create characters in comics and when there's a falling out, copyright issues arise but to be fair it was Gaiman who was brought in to bring some new blood to the Spawn comics at the time and eventually won ownership to the Angela character to eventually give it to Marvel.

Her adventures in Marvel however aren't too bad and are enjoyable. Plus she is not only affiliated with Thor but the Guardians of the Galaxy as well so who knows if she will ever appear in the MCU as well.

But not for nothing I would give anything, ANYTHING, to have her helm style in DCUO.

Not really kidnapped per-say, more happenstance. The angels did intend to kill her, which they thought they did but it seems she survived the attack and the angel given the task of disposing of her body found her still alive and just chose to keep her.

Talk about a nightmare costume to make, it seems simple but its not really. This, I believe, would be the most skin revealing costume for Marvel.

Would like to see what they could do though.

As we all know, super hero live action productions are incredibly faithful to redhead characters... like Wally West... oh wait, or Jimmy Olsen... um... or the film version... nope not that either... Matt Murdock? Damn it. Mary Jane? That's a dreadful wig. Black Widow... same wig shop obviously. Hang on, Karen Gillan's in Guardians of the Galaxy? Well then she must be... OH COME ON!!!

Lol, true. Compared to other Marvel heroines or villains, Angela is a bit under dressed. However the same can be said for Gamorra from Guardians of the Galaxy. Her comic book counterpart was also scantily dressed but of course the movie version has to be more conservative which Angela if she ever was brought to the MCU, she'll probably look like Sif in the Thor movies with of course her iconic helm

That was basically the same outfit she had in Spawn. Far Left is from the Spawnverse

The 1602: Witchhunter Angela looks pretty sweet.

It's a good thing that Gamora is green.

Let's not forget about classic Moondragon too.
