I dont know how the heck can a new player advance cr in this game, cause at 100 cr every item that drops tells me if you open it you can get from 10-180 cr and all give me same cr as my items... RLY?! where is the damn logic here?! they should give me a bit more of my actual cr to let me advance and get better stuff not giving me same crap... imo every item droped should give 10-20% more cr then what you wear till you get close to end game, and then the real work to start to have very good-best items
Unattuned gear is a nice feature to this game but it’s not the only way to increase CR. If you run content at your CR, you will get gear that will help increase your CR. At that point, the unattuned gear will also increase in Item Level. Since they haven’t put unattuned gear in all content, this is the best way to increase CR. I just did this with two different toons. Hope this helps

yeah, sorry, unattuned gear dont give a huge buff to your CR, it's design that way so people dont automatically shoot up their CR... unattuned gear are design to help player by giving them a little push... you arent suppose to relies on them like you wanted too.. iconic gear is the way to level up your CR.. not unattuned gear..
Play actual content to gear up, not just the events. You won't gear up just off of the events, designed that way so you can't use free content to skip teirs.
The best thing you can do to increase your CR is run the top content you have available to you. I increased one of my alt's CR from 98 to 154 in 3 days just while running it casually. The catch up mechanics in this game are pretty OP right now, just not when you're only using unattuned gear boxes. Heck, one drop I got increased my alt's overall CR by 2 just by putting on one piece.
It's actually better to keep that unattuned gear. Level up thru normal content. Once you see yoir other gear CR jump up. Then open them. You can piggy back all the way to end game in a day or so. Just have to plan out a bit.
If unattuned opens at the same level then you most likely have 1-3 pieces of EQ that are quite a bit lower in level than the rest. If your EQ is all around the same level, the Unattuned will open at a higher Level. When this happens, I usually buy eq to level my gear out before opening the unattuned boxes. Usually rings, gadget, utility belt and neck pieces are the culprits.
I recently started a new toon out of boredom and can tell you this is a lie. In less then 2 weeks I’ve gone from straight out of the ship to cr 119. And the only reason I’m not higher is due to lack of que times. As long as you run the highest content available you will continue to get items of higher cr. But that means you need too run the duos alerts and raids n not the vault or the event. Vault n event unattuned items drop in lower cr
Unattuned gear boxes scale to slightly above your average gear level. If you're at endgame and have similar gear levels in all your slots then it's usually a +1 up to +3 depending on gear quality. In lower tiers you usually have patchwork gear with vastly different Item Levels which means that your average is dragged down by a couple of trash pieces you're wearing. That way when you get scaling gear for a slot that you already have a higher level piece in, you won't get a boost because your old piece is already above your average. Rule of thumb: if you are wearing significantly different level gear pieces, don't attune scaling gear to try and replace one of your higher pieces. Replace your low pieces first.
That’s a great idea too. I also didn’t use any of my ultra bucks until I hit CR207 and I had enough to buy the entire Earth gear set and that put me right to CR222.
Keep all the scaling gear from events in your bank until you hit around 170ish CR. Thats when the cr grind slows to a crawl unless you have a bunch of that scaling gear stacked up. Run episodes to gear up until 170. Use a CR calculator like the one here http://www.odyssey-gaming.net/combatrating to determine what cr the gear will be before opening it. I had a similar issue.
I still think is a shame they dont show the style or the cr the gear will realy give. that would be more instersting then a mistery box that goes from a to b.
