Because this thread(https://forums.daybreakgames.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/what-is-going-milestone-failure.308143/) got me looking hard at the actual outcome....and because I was doing a TON of leveling the last 24 hours (not sure why I put this stuff off till the LAST day), here is a diary of my breakthrough results. BTW...finished the last one while the "The world will shut down in 4 minutes" message was showing in chat. It's a lot of nonsense, so save me the 'who cares'....I'm just sharing the info. It's still anecdotal, and just my experience but it was across 8 accounts, PC and PS4, F2P, Premium and Member...so should be a realistic cross section to base an 'average result' on. Of course, luck runs hot and cold, so YMMV. I copied out of MS word, so the formatting came out funky...but I'm not re-typing it. Left out any level 20s as those are 100%, also some artis were already in progress so I just started off at the 1st breakthrough during this last 2x event. I was going to remove all the 0 seal successes(not just the 20s), but seeing them shows how really random it is and is NOT some conspiracy to get us to buy more seals. Yeah, seals suck...and yeah, I might have just had a really good run whereas some others might have a bad run, but it's pretty well random and 'normally' the high fails were happening where expected at or above 100/120 (except those 2 fails on level 40...what up with that?). There were also several 0 fail 140 levels where you could mathematically expect to fail several times. For the record, I used SOP in everything up to level 160 (well, except those 2 40 fails...didn't see that coming), so a fail meant I ate a seal...not the cats. Except where noted after the fails I was successful on the 'max level'. A few accounts were out of seals, so I'll wait till they eventually give out an Unstable, then level the Arti at that point (generally do this with the Soder arti as it's 10% same as a 160). I actually always like to leave 1 159 on the breakthrough for an eventual USOC drop...on per account. Also, in case you didn't know, 10 SOP=1 SOC in price, so there were only 2 times where a SOC would have paid off where I did NOT use one (unless you count my nerves being shot after 6 or 7 misses). I just called everything 'arti' as I didn't want to hear how the ones I leveled were 'stupid' or not the meta, or "Why would you use X arti with Y arti...didn't you watch Chill's video?". I honestly thought about videoing the whole thing, but I doubt I could put up a 24 hour video to youtube and I'm too old to learn how to edit. All the Seals were already in stock, or purchased back on the BF sale for 50% off....All Nth was gathered from farming since the last 2x weekend or a few purchased 75s whenever there was a sale. Those 3K vault pieces can really add up over 6 months! Format is Level/Success%/seals used. Obviously where I used a SOC, it succeeded 1st try. Where I used SOP, the red number indicates how many SOP I used before success or quitting. I didn't try any SOC after using SOP....I figured In for a penny, in for a pound and plowed forward. Nothing, except I need a better hobby that this game...maybe piano...or learning ALL the languages. I think the moral of the story here (besides 'get a life Reinheld') is that we remember the fails way more than the successes. Honestly until I looked at the list as a whole when posting, I'd only have remembered my 'bad' luck with the >4 failures...which there were only 5...out of 131 breakthroughs.
