A simple solution to put an end to the stat clamp !

assuming the clamp was implemented to stop POS asshats from soloing bosses in alerts & raids, then perhaps the solution could be to remove the clamp for all open world areas and group content that you "walk-in" to.

Why should you, sir/madam ****** have to go to all of the trouble of "walking-in" ?. because YOU are the reason the rest of us have to live with the stat clamp.

We ARE stronger. MUCH stronger. Bosses in clamped regular raid & alert content melt in like 10-15s, sometimes even faster. Hell, when spamming the OMAC duo for the new Brainiac collection I was one shotting that 2nd boss if Atomic Blast crit and we'd completely skip the phases where you had to hit the cogs, pick up the things, take them to the other side off the room and then to the boss to take down his shield. I'm pretty sure nobody was one-shooting him when it was current. I could (and have) cite a ton more examples. Clamped elite content is super easy too which was what I was saying in my first post in this thread. FGSe was probably the hardest non-plus elite raid since I started playing in 2017, IMO anyway. I think I only beat it 5-7 times during that entire DLC or at least through the first two bonus marks weeks. I definitely had A LOT of disbands though. Now???? It's a guaranteed clear. Maybe there's 1-2 wipes on zeus if there are people in the group who don't know the mechs, but that's it.

We're MUCH stronger in clamped content. We're just not "speed hacker" strong. Ultimately that's what y'all want, right? to be able to kill bosses the way speed hackers could when it the content was current? While I fully get that actually using/being a speed hacker is cheating, against TOS, exploiting software backdoors, etc and not using one is NOT those things. But at the end of the day, you either think killing bosses in 3s-5s is cool or you think it's lame.
I never said anything is stopping me. But video game difficulty tuning is a much more complex and detailed process compared to what results from taking gear off. First of all, I'm not gonna try and calibrate via a long a tedious trial & error process the exact pieces of gear that need to be removed to achieve the desired difficulty. Second, even if I wanted to do that nonsense, I'm pretty sure I couldn't find seven others willing to do the same. Third, I'm fairly certain that enemy defense, health and damage as well as player defense, health and damage aren't reduced bye the same ratio so gear removal most like can't achieve the right tuning balance anyway.

Again, difficulty tuning is the game developers' job, not the players' job (cough cough EA Sports
I'm not sure how I or any player isn't leaving you to play how you want. You don't need anybody's permission.
So do I...but not to an infinite degree. Cyberpunk 2077 is probably my favorite game of all time but I have one HUGE complaint and that's that they never added new game+. I'd really like to be able to play through the whole game including the early parts with all my maxed out, modded guns and cyberwar. But I don't want to clear an entire map by sneezing. Measured progress is great. Infinite un-capped progress is dumb af. That's just how I see it anyway.

  3. BumblingB I got better.

Interesting correlation between the reason why we have the clamp and adaptive augments. I would say they aren't connected at all and the reason why we have the clamp was because of the fact they had a 10 year old game with tons of content not being played and wanted players to play it. Clamp makes it where you can pick up and go, but do tell. How do Augments, when came out during the Titans DLC, affect why we have the clamp?

We are obviously playing two different games. None of this that you have described has been my experience in Omni / EEG content, Especially in clamped Elite content Tier 6, it has not been easy. I have yet to see a Boss even in regular EEG content melt in 10-15s, let alone Elite.

I would like to play the game you describe but it isn’t DCUO that I play.

Players are different with different way of enjoying the game. Only one group, your group, is catered too now, and can fully enjoy the whole game. I can’t. I have just 3 DLCs to enjoy at a time and that is it. I want to get stronger, be stronger, and just enjoy the thrill of going back to that older content and really kicking…, really mopping the floor with my new super strength. THAT is / was enjoyment for me and I think a lot of other players too.

The way it is now, I’m in the “why bother” mode of working hard to progress because there is no need too, it’s wasted effort now. My only enjoyment from this game now comes from playing the End Game content where I’m not artificially handicapped and can have just a little taste of being a superhero.

    Never said that.

The “1 shot” narrative is a creation all of the pro-[DELETED].

I want to be strong, I want my progression to mean something more than just being strong in Dakota City, Cursed Gotham, and Bottled DC as I am now. I should be just as strong if not stronger in EEG content. But I’m handicapped to point I am not.

I pay a yearly sub, just curious, how invested are you in DCUO? Just curious. I support this game, I always have. What I’m getting at is players such as myself are treated like third class citizens by both the Devs and especially by our fellow gamers.

Like, devs nerfs when too strong and after spending money to get strong enough.
And add more things in market place to get more stronger and when getting strong enough again, devs nerfs again and adds more benefits to pay to get strong again?
Devs was doing alot of nerfing back then.

Only bc the numbers r lower dsnt mean u r Weaker or do u hv more struggle in the raids thn when they were new? I know the answer its no so theres ur progress

For example swe+ is a walk in the Park now compared to when it was new so how am I Weaker I hv progression n the raid is now ez

N if u say its still way to hard n elite plus sux blah blah thn there u go theres something u can work for bc for a looot of players its ez now

Also think about new players how would u like it if every raid is done in a few mins n u dnt get to play bc end game players melt everything down b4 u even notice what happens new players wouldnt keep playn just to stand there n watch other ppl Ruin the experience

well, you can just keep working your butt off for "progress", I'm done trying to anything better than the +5CR above the content that we are oh so generously granted, when I'm over +60CR above anything in Shock to the System. So I ask you, why wouldn't I be INCREDIBLY ANGRY that my progress is trivialized and stolen, and that I get PUNISHED because I played this stupid game and got good at it and succeeded!

The Higher the player's CR the stronger the effect of the [DELETED] is on them. So since I'm at CR446, I feel like and am VERY weak in [DELETED] content.

But no, let's cater to the tourist players who come and go, and don't stick around.

Even with what's stated that with skill points, artifacts, augments, etc aren't clamped.
    That those stats help grow.
And still no change at all for a year Ive been increasing in those stats and Omnibus content has no change to any clamped stats.
As to dominance is 12000 in a clamped content. A year of skill points, artifacts, augments, still 12000 dominance.
Maybe if I do a video can help the devs look into it.
Meaning it's not possible to actually get stronger. It's fixed clamps. Maybe devs missed that error that didn't work properly that they intended to.
And since ominous isn't cared for enough for players to really notice.

You're not from the early times of dcuo? If you was, you'd understand.
The idea is for it to be optional, not forced.
Tiffany is saying it "fundamental idea" not a rewarding idea for it to be easy.

Pre-[DELETED]: Progress came with gear earned or bought with game currency earned by simply playing the game... i.e., FREE.
Post -[DELETED]: Progress by a monetized system of augments, artifacts, and allies... i.e., NOT AS FREE.

The [DELETED] takes your real progress away so you can spend money to buy it back.

I'm saying that if you just did it in the first place... you wouldn't need the [DELETED] to do it for you... I could play without the [DELETED]
...or have an option not to.

That wouldn't have fixed the instances/mechanics breaking left and right causing the backlog of needed bug fixes to grow exponentially.

Also, now that we have allies in addition to artifacts costing a lot of source marks, it's good that we have the clamp as it opened up much better and "bountiful" ways to acquire them.

Of course you'll say "they could have still removed the instance loot locks and increased open world weekly missions to 8 marks WITHOUT the clamp!!" To which I say "F*** NO. You ain't getting 8 marks for a 3 minute raid run or a 10s-15s bounty obliteration.

Artifacts, allies and augments can all be leveled and maxed without spending a dime. Now, artifacts and allies are clearly set up to be a significant and primary revenue stream and the game is structured to heavily entice players to go that route. But augments?!?!? If you don't have more than enough augment xp to get your origin augments maxed on day 1 and your adaptive maxed reasonably quick then you're either been extra lazy and have deleted exobytes as you get them instead of storing and saving them or you've only been able to log in very sparingly over the past several months (which happens). There's no reason other than the latter I just mentioned to be in a position to where you feel forced, pressured, etc to spend money on augments.

Sure augment resources are on the marketplace but that's more for people who have little spare time to play but plenty of disposable money burning a hole in their pocket and would PREFER having the option to level them up with real money. My league is mostly players who are adults with established careers, families, mortgages, adult responsibilities etc and a lot of them are quite happy they have the option to spend what to them might as well be couch change to get their toons leveled instead of spending more and more hours grinding when they could be focusing that time on their family, jobs, responsibilities, etc. The ability to purchase that stuff is a courtesy to those kinds of people. But it is by no means necessary or even all that advantageous in game to spend money on augments if you don't want to.

I did the open world dailies (Sinestro, Grodd, and Bane, Superman, Lex, and the Control Panel) in about 9+ minutes total this morning. Even less time than that to do the last Dakota City dailies since after today I won’t be going back there ever again.

I hate to think what it is going to be like to try to fight Chemo in the open world in Dakota City now that it is getting [DELETED] or the Fatal Five. What a nightmare that is going to be.

It ultimately depends on how they do the "defining" pass.

T5 of all the ones seems to be in the worst shape.
Granted I haven't officially managed to get in all the T6 raids yet but I've gotten through a decent chunk of them (of course some only one time, the boss Fractured was a pain and we almost didn't pass at the end but we squeaked by).

That's a big stretch, considering you don't really need those augments in the so called "[DELETED]" content, since there is very little piercing unless you are doing elite. No one does elite "[DELETED]" content anyways. Most of the time, the un"[DELETED]" content is where your Adaptive Augments, Artifacts, Stat Points and Allies are used.

So again, how is progression being sold back to us in "[DELETED]" content?

If you want an argument about anti-"[DELETED]", you could say that we lack progression and are limited on only the 3 newest episodes, but that doesn't make a huge case, since there is still progression. IE, it's the only legitimate concern. Especially when we were originally promised to eventually be able to do elite content with stronger gear. We can't. It is what it is.

What isn't, is selling us progression, when the content itself is free and auto levels you to a set stat point.

Exactly, and it shouldn’t be that way. T6 in EEG is terrible. It shouldn’t be this way for veteran players but it unfairly is. Upscaled players have it far better and an easier time in T5-T6 EEG content. I truly believe if one actually wants to play EEG [DELETED] content, then it is best if that player is NOT an End Game player with full stats at all. Upscaled players have it better.
