i haven't tried it, and already you guys are asking for a buff, are we forgetting not all raids can be FoS 2, every now and then you need an FoS 3 raid also.

I actually like this idea for a future episode, a somewhat grindy DLC featwise, with a lot of styles and no focus on chasing the latest top stat-gears. It could include a common vendor for everyone with a new, cool style and minor stat increase. If pulled of right and including enough styles and funny/interesting/challenging feats, it could have good longevity as compared to roflstomp a'la "the one with the most replay badges wins". It's good to change things up once in a while.

    Great run everyone!

Just something I noticed on the run I was in, you can pick up those bombs and throw them at the boss... Or throw them away from the group. I mean if one happened to be at your feet.

FOS2 when it was relevant and Paradox Wave when it was relevant. Both are just a few examples of when this game had boss mechanics. It might have been Origin Crisis where the last tough raid boss mechanic existed? War of the Light pt1 had a great raid too albeit a bit on the easy side.

Even FOS3 had mechanics at a relevant CR. This DLC has nearly none.

It's like they opened up the development tool and just plopped some adds with a lot of health* in a map. There is absolutely no creativity beyond character and world design in this raid. Which character design concepts were basically already done for them by DC.

 It's baffling, yes I agree a Buff is kind of needed for this raid but must the few players in the community bash the raid calling it too easy, picking on it much like it was that one kid who wet himself on the school playground instead of submitting supportive feedback on the Raid's testing page? You want a buff we get it, don't whine about it.

    Yes!

Also, if a bomb is next to a player that is down, you will need to pick up the bomb first because you will not be able to revive the player.

I'd even say that FOS 3 probably had the best design in terms of needing a balanced group (minus 2 tanks that is). Tanks had to take care of the medics, while the rest of the team had to take on the rest of the adds. Healers had to heal the actual group because they were fighting adds without the Tank safety net, DPS couldn't just burn using whatever ranged attack was OP at the time (bow or DP), and controllers had to control the red/white handed sentries while the group focus fired one or the other. I love FOS 3. I think it's far and away the best designed 1 room raid in game. It capped off the best series of raids in game on a high note.

It was great because it added real difficulty, in that groups that had good team dynamics (ie: healers that could actually heal well, tanks that could position enemies out of the way of the group, DPS that could distinguish when to attack with what attacks and controllers that could stun) made it through and those that didn't just didn't beat it (without the door glitch)

There does seem to be some sort of systemic issue here making the content play at the wrong difficulty. That's what the test server is for, and we're digging in this morning.

HP and damage increase to NPCs seems to be the difficulty issue you're referring to though. Mechanically, it looks devoid of any role specific mechanics, which is where a lot of us are having problems.

I have been playing the game for 4 years and putting my money where my mouth is. I know block, lunge and everything else and so can my peers and the end gaming community.

I honestly believe that most money in the game is spent by the end gaming community. Personally, I spent over a $1000 dollars into this game annually and can say the same for a lot of people who enjoy challenging content.

The person who is not getting off the Brainiac ship is not spending money and not supporting the game while in contrast the end gaming community is heavily invested into their characters and do everything from spending money to painfully grinding LPVE and what not to make their characters stronger.

One of our group composition comprises of everyone with 230+ SP and fully specced elite geared players. We like a lot of other end gaming leagues prefer challenge and never have we attempted to glitch any content.

My point is that there are all kind of players including the ones that beat content legitimately, therefore, making content trivial just because a considerable portion can't does not seem fair to us.

HP and damage increase will only increase runtime. Are there any mechanics actually geared toward support roles in this raid?

What do you mean there isn't enough bombshell action as they take part in the raid as NPCs and do their bit of tanking and helping the group. I hope you don't expect them to make love to each other or something along those lines?
    Care to specify?

Its cool to see a parallel between in game activities and things going on in the comics. Going forward this could lead to some interesting storylines..

unfortunately, after watching the vid, that seems like the extent of positives i can muster. More tank and spanks with one shots... i didnt expect the first raid to be tough, but i was hoping after 3 months we would get better than this. a sparring target that one shots you isnt fun...

i hope im wrong, but this doesnt look like content that will be worth more than logging in for 20 mins a week to knock out.

I don't doubt what you and your peers are capable of...i've run with plenty of good players. Thing is, i've also run with average/below average players...and sadly, they comprise the majority.

Thing is that when all is said and done, you're not representing a majority...you're part of a shrinking vocal minority. The arguments you're making (legitimate as they are) are not new or recent...this was the topic of discussion after Nexus & Dox were nerfed and again after Halls of Power 1 dropped. And I get trivializing content is bad overall for everyone...but the Devs have to worry about the bottom line (whether any of us like it or not).

They can't afford to alienate the majority which is average or below...especially with an intolerant community that is doing an excellent job of pushing these players away for what is arguably easy content now (high CR/Skill Point, FoTM power demands). Sadly this means we have to tolerate an ez-mode raid trivialized further by 5 DPS stacking and wait a bit for a more challenging raid with an Elite version attached. Until the average and below are brought up to a certain level, asking for greater difficulty is pointless...well, not really pointless, just won't be acted upon by the Devs until they know for sure that it can actually be handled by the majority (seeing as how Block/Lunge/Reflect seems to stop the majority, I wouldn't get my hopes up any time soon).

I really respect your realistic point of view on this situation, I really do. But..... (you saw that But coming, didn't you?) Do you really believe that the best solution is to keep feeding the average community content easy enough for everyone to ROFLStomp, just to make sure that everyone, no matter how ignorant and unwilling to learn, can beat the content coming our way with minor effort? Isn't high-end content supposed to be a bit challenging for a crowd that supposedly should know how to handle a high-end challenge? I mean, who are we kidding here? To demand that people pay attention to a big red skull, to be able to perform a block, lunge and dodge isn't asking for much, we shouldn't even be asking. People should just have to learn it and be ready for it. We are not asking for every episode to be a new Origin Crisis, but we have gone the complete ultimate opposite ever since then, with Amazon Fury Pt 2 being the only Episode since then that is actually bringing a great balance in both difficulty and challenge for everyone. AF Pt 2 is a great episode to use as a guideline for future content, if they want to create something for everyone, because that episode literally hit everyone generally.

You should've realized by now that the majority you speak of and the ez-mode they demand, is the very same reason that keep the population down to a low. This is an MMO, having to argue this hard for people to get into their heads that they should be ready for a somewhat challenging situation once in a while in HIGH END-TIERS is just...... It's stupid, that's what it is. The casual majority of this community isn't the kings, the devs are, and they should stop listening to people whining about content being hard and demanding nerfs and ez-modes instead of being ready to learn "OR ELSE I LEAVE AND YOU WON'T SEE MY MONEY, EVEN THOUGH I AM PREMIUM, I BOUGHT AN AURA. BIG BUCKZZZZZZ!!!!111ONEONE1one". If they did, people would find things interesting, some people unwilling to learn and too ignorant to listen would leave, some might not come back because they can't ROFLStomp. If they don't come back? Mission completed! It would open up for more people joining and rejoining and we would actually have more interesting content that is keeping people around for longer instead of turning everyone into casual players that log on once a week to ROFLStomp the latest raid at entry-cr and then logging out until the next week's reset.

But, we can keep walking this road and ignoring what's ahead, if you want to. I tell you though, you will be wandering in an empty desert because the rest left for greener pastures.

lol I can't lie about that there are some that are 7 mins but there are plenty that are well hell razors....but 7 mins sounds about right.
  18. KHALONofOGUN 10000 Post Club

Nope...I don't believe that is the best solution. Just pointed out what the unfortunate reality is. I actually agree with what you've stated above. There is one thing though (you knew there had to be one thing right?)...while there should be challenge in our content, we the community, need to be just a touch more patient and inclusive...to help out in these instances so that it's not just the same groups continuously beating said content while the rest come to the forums complaining about "too hard" or "they won't let me in cause I only have 70sp/i'm not L33T & COMP3T3NT". We shouldn't run around with a "thin the herd" mentality...since we need those people to keep things afloat.

Having said that, again, I say you're right about the current state of affairs. Devs...Never mind the FoSes and Batcaves or Origin Crisis. You have a VERY recent example blueprint for fun and challenging content in Amazon Fury 2...look at what you did there and find a way to build upon that.

While you're right that the majority of the community should be more helpful and willing, that case of "unwilling to learn" is the main issue there aswell. I have been kicked from groups for trying to communicate with ignorant fellows and tell them what they need to do in order to get passed the boss. They don't want to listen, they just want to run their 1,2,3,4,5 rotation while standing at the same spot until they wipe. If they stop wasting time and listen to advice we won't have to have this conversation. Also, the "thin the heard" mentality in my experience mostly occur around groups that want and/or need an extra crutch or carry for the instance. Seeing someone demanding cr 125+ for NGN, you are almost 100% that it's not an elite-group. ;)

You're saying that you are agreeing with me, but you are still hanging on to the same reason i've seen you state numerous times, which is "the community is bad already, there is no hope for future changes". With that attitude, we ofcourse get caught in a standstill.

If you are in fact agreeing with me and want more balanced, challenging content to enjoy, then stop using bad players, unwilling to learn as a reason to not move forward. That won't get us anywhere at all. This game doesn't have that kind of hard difficulty, it all comes down to people being spoiled with nerfs and changes as opposed to work around it by LEARNING THE CONTENT.

Plenty in ESO? There are only 3 raids total in the entire game after a year. xD
