A Basic Guide on How to Be a Super "Super" Villain

Let's face it, we all know how to be a super hero. Do good things, stop bad guys, rescue kittens out of trees, help little old ladies... Yadda, yadda, yadda. *YAWN!* *SNORE!* But to be a truly fiendish foe to our boring and predictable boy scout counterparts, what exactly is the best method to achieve the maximum evil potential within ourselves?

    Step one: Evil laugh.

No villain can be effective without a proper evil laugh. While not all evil laughs are the same, there are many types of laughs you can try to achieve. All of them evil and manical. You should shoot for giving your lame hero counterpart the chills. After all, when you're laughing it let's them know you have the upper hand.

    Step two: Type of Villain

There are many looks for you to choose from for your felonious frocks. We are going to cover a few of the basic types.

    Classic Male Villain
    [IMG]

The classic male villain is a very dashing rogue. A proper gentlemen even when tying a damsel to a railroad track. A black suit adorned with a black cape and a top hat to top of this fine gent. Black is generally a staple in most villain's attire. The classic male villain is very fond of elaborate facial hair. And why shouldn't he be? It's fabulous! How can you not look maniacal when twirling your fancy mustache?

    Female Seductress
    [IMG]

If you are a woman that is very comfortable with her body, this may be your bread and butter. The seductress generally wears little to no clothing. What better way to distract that interfering little boy scout then to use the weapons your mama gave you? You can lure your pray nice and close with your scantily clad body then move in for the kill. This type of villain usually has no problem attracting loyal henchmen, but we will get more into lackeys a bit later. While beautiful and charming you can still be just as deadly as any of your counterparts. Your fangs are just camouflaged.

    Evil Mastermind
    [IMG]

This villain uses their massive intellect to plot and generally mess with humanity in general. They tend to have a lot of toys, and they are not afraid to use them! This villain can talk even the most stubborn henchman in to walking into any life threatening situation with a smile on their face. Sometimes these villains brain power put them on a different level then the average person. Reading minds or the ability to mind control. If you have the IQ, this villain is a very smart choice.

    Evil Queen
    [IMG]

This favorite of the female villains. Powerful and vindictive, this is one lady that you do not want mad at you. They tend to hold grudges and will make anyone pay for crossing them. Commanding and usually a bit of a control freak, this lady can move mountains with a flick of her wrist. She will do anything to get what she wants. She is feared as well as loved. Let's face it, it's good to be the Queen.

    Brute
    [IMG]

The brute can be mistaken for a mindless idiot, which is not always the case. They just use their mussels to take what they want, when they want it. They are like trying to stop a hurricane, a major force to reckon with. If you like smashing and punching your way through life, this villain could be the way to go.

    Witch/Hag
    [IMG]

This is another villain that tends to be underestimated. While there is no doubt their looks give away their villainous intent, they tend to be seen as feeble and weak. Nothing could be further from the truth. This twisted type always has a trick up their sleeve and their victims are always taken off guard. This villain may be one of the more sneaky of the evil doers, just make sure to always carry an umbrella.

    Mad Scientist/Doctor
    [IMG]

This is a fun villain with some fun toys! Whether they are making a mutated army, or some sort of chemical warfare this villain really knows how to have a good time! If you like hanging out in dark laboratories and making abominations to nature, this villain might be just what the doctor ordered!

While there are numerous variations and more types I did not list, these are a few classics you can not go wrong with!

    Step Three: Costume

Spikes, metal, sharp lines, and you really can not go wrong with tons and tons of black.

    Step Four: Henchmen

Every Super Villain needs a group of mindless drones to do their bidding. If you have gone the way of the witch or evil queen you can enchant yourself some minions. If you're a mad scientist you can whip yourself up a hoard. But if you do not have magic/charisma or the skill to build your own, nothing beats cold hard cash. But do not skimp out on these guys. No evil empire can run smoothly without the cogs to run the machine.

    Step Five: Evil Plan

Not all villains have the same motivation for their misdeeds. Some are just out for chaos, some have a detailed agenda. Regardless of motivation, they all work outside the law, social norms, and nature.

In order to be an effective villain you have to ask yourself a few questions. What motivates you? What limits do you have, if any? What resources do you have? What resources can you steal? And the most important question of them all, what is your endgame goal? Knowing the answers to these questions separates the super villains from the every day thugs.

    Conclusion:

There are so many people that want to be a smelly superhero. It takes a special type to embrace their dark side and become a true super villain! We may have it rough sometimes, but being bad feels so damn good!

I believe you left out the step where in a moment of gloating/boasting, the villain reveals their plans/agenda/Achilles heal and end up getting stopped/busted/caught by their opposing hero.

Since this is a guide, you should ask to have this moved to Oracle's Database... you'd have editor rights there! :D

You think they would allow that even though it's not a game guide? Lol

You seem to have a problem with the whole "Queen" concept. You do not need "them" to allow that; you want "them" to beg for forgiveness for not already having moved the guide on their own!
