400 SP - wow...really?

^ Most important aspect of it and why I roll my eyes right out of my skull when I see ppl complain about SP. Getting reasonably high SP is considerably easier than beefing ourselves up in any other MMO. Doing all of the feats now =/= having done all of the feats when we weren't crazy overgeared when the content was fresh. Do people have a misconception that now-trivial **** like Four Corners was trivial five years ago? I had close to max SP when I left and in the few weeks since I've been back, I've gained an additional ~150 with minimal feat-focused effort. You don't have to do any of the feats from the most recent episodes to get beasted out SP-wise.... One can even skip the most annoying ones with minimal impact to progression because they're usually always 10pts. A huge number of SP are now outright gimmes, including ones from feats that used to be brutal.

yea congrats on spending money to progress in skill points through time capsules lol
  3. Proxystar #Perception

Yea I did tell everyone it was going to exponentially increase and with time seem absolutely absurd :D - time reveals everything right.

Artifacts are somewhat the same, they're a gravy train, you're forever going to be chasing that optimal meta and you're going to be paying for the privilege.

Just like the arguments. I have a feeling they have a change for our progression again. Could be this year, but probably next year. People will be around 500sp, and could almost max everything out. Like 60 something more and everything is maxed past 500.

We don't all spend money sir. Some of us spend time on the other DCUO game, called the broker. ;)

Ha one of the "nice" things about being on a tank power is that we can never max everything out :'D Least not for our support role.

I know some do get them that way. I still feel the name of them should be changed from Skill points (no skill required) to something else like whale points, or as you listed hand me down whale points. for your method could be completionist points.

True that....I spend little extra money on TCs (ok...I have bought a 40 pack both times they came out....so sue me). Between the free daily run, and the occasional 20 pack from the loyalty vendor I try to keep my RL money spend low. In game though I have probably blown a billion on TC items alone just to get the feats...not including overstock to sell later (which gets my billion back eventually). People spending RL money on this stuff are what they count on though, and in the case of a year ago, I'm guessing the guy who hit 400 first did spend some cash....that's just not all of us.

I think technically they are called 'stat points' now, although most still call them skill points. I'm more over the name 'feats' for stuff like open 15 xyz capsules....
"Woohoo....you made it kid...see with hard work perseverance and 15 bucks you can do anything!!!"...yeah, congrats on that 'feat'.

Ah, maybe. Remember what was also going on a year ago. Let's just say, this past year was way more expensive than the previous, on TC items. But yes, people do obviously support the game that way.

Totally fine with that. I haven't really felt like the "feats" were worth it, or should be named that, since Nexus/Dox. From FOS2 thru these raids it really made people step up their game.

Well, that could be said about every role really. Not all tanks really benefit from both dom and resto, like atomic. Sure one of the self heals, which I don't use while tanking, and maybe the shield. But how much stronger will the shield really be? There's a reason rage is thought ot as top tank power, and not ice.

As a returning player I find it very difficult to "catch up" with the old feats for skill points. Even if its a few episodes old. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong but even the old style feats are incredibly frustrating. Currently I'm at 167sp and the climb is so slow. What make matters worse is I feel like I'm splitting too much time between old and new content which makes my over all game play progression unsatisfying.

I'm not asking for a "pay to win" scenario, but it seems the system could be better with some sort of old content catch up mechanic. Maybe make some of the old styles purchasable through a legacy vendor? Just a little something to get returning or new players closer to current end game content sp wise. I have so many old styles that I only need that one piece to complete and yet I can never get the drops or find them on the Trade Network. Which is time wasted were I could be working/grinding on newer episodes.

I don't know the answer. It's just what I see as a returning player.

Perhaps the answer is a question.

Is there any content that gives you problems to complete?

    Or

What are you seeing in runs that maybe different to you as you gain more SP no matter how trivial or do you see changes with each SP added?

Are you in a league or do you have others that can help you to point you in the right direction, because a whole lot of styles have been added to different content.

I actually think they should have not made something's available until a person at least raised a toon to a certain level, advance tokens specifically.

Though it may not pertain to you, some hand outs just do more harm than good, that one move helps with queues times in the latest content, but leaves the older content a ghost time.

I believe that what you and others may need is some type of solo game to catch up, something where you can run stuff without a group and not have to form a group and is easy enough that you don't have to block or worry about bosses fighting back.

Not sure if any of that matters, I have almost 330SP, most I have left are TCs and I can tell you this.

When they were doing stats, they didn't go and make content requirements that required max amount of SP, so maybe try and earn a set amount of SP a week.

Be realistic and stop being so negative on yourself about the number you have and focus on improving skill in a role.

max available sp is 457... i believe one could get 458sp with "back from the hack" feat but no1 has 458sp atm.
  17. KHALONofOGUN 10000 Post Club

That already happened....they're called Stat points.
  18. KHALONofOGUN 10000 Post Club

It's not well advertised in-game, but there is exactly that in the Watchtowe/Hall of Doom. In the Watchtower agricultural room there is Vendor 00 which has all the vendor styles up to Tier 7 I believe, with each style piece costing only 10 Marks of Victory each. The catch is that you can only see the styles if you're past that tier level. So the higher your CR the more styles you'll see there (especially if you've recently used the advance to cr210 token). Getting the marks needed to complete sets is easy, which means you can complete one set per week guaranteed.

For the content dropped rare styles there's vendor 22. That one is meant to be used to supplement your content runs...every piece costs 70 MoV. The reasoning behind the price is that they're rare items, and the price should reflect that. The recommendation is to occasionally run the content, and as you get closer to completing style sets, whatever you have a hard time getting to drop you just buy. This one is obviously a longer grind, but that's the way it should be. As it is, using this vendor will reduce the amount of RNG you'd normally have to deal with...so all things considered, it's not bad.

They are called both. If you open up that menu and look at the top, it says Skill Points for certain tabs and Stat Points for others. It depends on what you are purchasing at that moment: movement skills/iconic abilities or stats.

Thank you for the tip good sir! The Vendor 22 is really what I was looking for but 70 MoV a pop is kind of high imho. Hey it is what it is...
