After several hours and 20 gigs downlaoded I get the error message that the patch doesn't match the version expected and now its downloading another 10 gigs. I don't have the bandwidth to waste like this and I want to know is this a common thing and if so is there a simple solutiion to keep from downloading 20 gigabytes of data I can't actually use?
The game is larger than 20 GB. If you had read the system requirements, then you would've seen it says it is up to 30 GB.
Sorry if I wasn't clear I don't mind downloading large files for a game, well I do but I understand the necessity. My problem was the fact that it wasn't until after it had all been downloaded that it declared the patch was not the expected version and cancelled it to download a much smaller one. That's what I want to avoid not the downloading of large files so much as the downloading of large files for no reason.
Did you download through steam (or something like that)? Quite often the definition of the game there is a little out of date and therefore requires significant updating once installed. (Side note: never verify your game files through steam, always use the launcher instead).
