One of the nastiest feats I have left. Sitting at 6239 on this one. Anyone have some insight on the current fastest methods to salvage? Oh, and for those that got this feat by PvP necklaces, I am green with envy. No need to point it out here.
A friend of mines got his by running the night club duo and having the people he ran with mail him gear. Not sure how to go about it after the recent update but I recall him saying it was the fastest way for him to salvage.
Let me remind everyone these feats are and over time thing you finish them too soon you will have nothing to salvage later and honestly salvaging should be added to 1-30 gear too that way you can salvage right away all drop gear of all levels should be salvaged.
I know on the villain side, you can farm the Enchanted Statue as that bounty always drops items you can salvage. You could possibly buy up to the 5k feat on your villain and farm it that way. I know it took a league mate a few weeks of constant farming to get the feat. Unfortunately, the hero side doesn't have a bounty that drops gear. Awhile ago, you could purchase the T1 weapons and salvage those, but, that's since been fixed lol
Might consider the bounty thing. I noticed enchanted statue has an instant respawn and does not move. Don't think i'll villain-side it until 7500 though. losing 1k+ salvages to switch factions is probably ill-advised.
sounds like a good plan. Another tip is to have plenty of space in your inventory at all times and have your portable workstation nearby. I have had to delete way too many salvageable items because i had no space to get my actual reward and going back to HoD would mean I would lose whatever drops in the instance. Common sense I know, but worth remembering
I think I recently got 7500. Low tier duos drop tons of stuff. Solo Battle for Earth duos and get everything. Solo alerts like Ace and Strykers and you'll easily get 8+ items to salvage every time. A little more time consuming than solos, but I also have fun soloing these duos and alerts.
Keep forgetting about that broker. Just checked it out, found 40+ pieces at 10k each. Obviously not the best way, but an occasional check will certainly pay off here and there
I bought a lot of my gear to finish up this feat. I also mailed my Villain money, he bought the gear, and then mailed it back to me. So I was hitting two brokers every day.
same here i bought alot of items just for salvaging , i think i spent more cash for that than for the merit feat.
I just ran duos and solos every day when i got down to about 1000 left i started buying cheap gear off the broker and salvaged it...i used to go to CC then kill the reapers there to get the crap drops keep a r and d station on you salvage as you go
I do find it strange that people have trouble with this feat even after individual loot. It was way more difficult back then. Run all your t1-3 duos, need on all the gear that drops, run catwoman instance (5+ pieces in 7-8mins), buy salvageable gear off the broker, etc.
i remember the neckpiece glitch and altruistically going "no.no.no i won't cheat and spam salvage that pvp necklace"... i'm at 7,000 on the one (give or take). fastest way to get salvaging junk is to run the low tier solos and duos.
