Yep, that is how you get around it by dropping gear. A friend thought it was bugged for a long time until he tried this solution lol

I farmed them in earth duos (pretty quick instance) and they dropped all the time also batcavers raids/khandaq Hope helps a little
Not all the gates open even standing pad's won't open up the full raid - I'm curious what this other method is?
I think it's RnG when you spawn into the raid.
It will never happen; GW2 have their own engine and staff to back it up.
Properly between 2011-16 anything after that pretty debatable; Main thing is got some good memories and friends along the way.
