I personally know NOTHING about running a gaming server like this one, but it seems gaming companies need servers that can update character info live and on demand so they can be switched seamlessly perhaps even while still remaining live. ...One server goes down the other could be running and ready to take over immediately.
That could be the end of server downtime for updates/test server mode/tripping over network cables/etc.

We have cloud storage it doesn't seem like too many steps further to prevent gaming servers from not allowing access to the product.
I think the techy people need to get right on that!

Well, they DID say that the servers could be down for up to 12 hours today. It was presumptuous to think they meant 12 hours in a row.

I am downloading the game fresh; will this affect my download?
