I know, we ( I ) complain alot about the lack of new classes in dcuo.. but as more and more mmos add new classes isnt it kind of sad that dcuo is not? It just feels like we’ve fallen behind.. eso took a small break on releasing classes,, but their last was 2019! Even they didn’t go 5+ years without adding a new class.

This is starting to get bad, and no im not saying the sky is falling… but it feels like we aren’t doing anything to well, keep the sky up in the sky.

    DCUO is not ESO.
They are their own games, it's not a competition.

New classes/buffs/abilities is the heart of a any mmo, this i agree.

Dcuo have artifacts, is not the same thing but at least we got something.

There are 6 classes in ESO. Compare that to 12 in WOW and 15 in DCUO.

There are 3 roles and 15 powersets in DCUO which means each role has the same number of 5 powersets to choose from.

If a new powerset is introduced, that means 2 more powersets are expected to follow to keep that balance. So, if ever, its not just committing to one but three powersets, actually.

There is no easter bunny, there is no tooth fairy, and there will be no new power in dcuo.

DCUO is all about allies, artefacts and capsules, a far cry from the content richness of TESO and looping around the same DLC content, there are more devs on DCUO...

As someone who plays both, under the hood they are very different creatures., and to compare the two is unfair. Both have their charms. But you can't expect one to be equal to the other.

Long has it been where powers was the difference between good damage and bad damage. The support roles have their unique-ness (Aside trolls. Sorry) Like celestial is a burst healer/Overtime. Elect is burst and spammable. Rage tanks, fire tanks, ice tanks. All different.

Now its just "who can proc more allies. Who has the better augments, allies, artifacts. Who can art swap the fastest." Its not the same anymore. Imo they need to come out with artifacts that are not a general buff. But perhaps an artifact that has a similar leveling to bottle city soder, but for each power. Something that can really elevate a power instead of just giving every power the same flat buff with a new artifact.
If you keep adding artifacts that dont offer a unique effect for certain powers, then you are not going to change the power meta, just make it worse as the powers that perform well will draw more people into swapping due to feeling useless on a crappy dps power.

There is no need for powers. Just a shake up with the current ones. Thats all

EverQuest 2 has something similar with archetypes that combined a total of 24 or 26 classes.

It blows my mind that we not going to get new iconic abilities or to expand existing powersets with higher tier abilities, similar to super charges but more powerful.
    Let alone full new powers.

It is what it is, Water was the last power and we are stuck with artifacts, capsules and allies, that's it.

I have a question for all the creators of this type of theme.

If the DCUO announces 3 new powersets but these new powersets are not what you like, suggest a playstyle you're not interested in, would that still be enough? Or will the dissatisfaction still be the same? and will leave only then, when the developers make a powerset for you personally?

On one hand we could use new powers it would be nice and sweet I've noticed vets and players who have played for some time or take a break and come back mostly ask about new powers. New players have plenty to work with for what we have now though but I've come to realize that instead of new powers I don't see any reason why we couldn't have new abilities added to current ones or new iconic's .

They make new powers all the time.

They just call them artifacts now, and give you the privilege of paying to level, breakthrough, then change it for the next one in the interest of ‘keeping up.’ Questionable practice when you add in the litany of nickel and dime tactics, but nobody is forcing us to play the game. Log in, do some dailies, and log out for the day without spending any money on things you don’t like, or find another game. It is what is is and won’t get any different at this point.

Exactly - no matter what the Devs do, someone will complain, then those that agree will bandwagon and before you know it we get phrases like "noone wanted this" - ignoring those that liked it or the fact that it helps the game

Super Simple...ESO is a bigger game that you have to pay to play, so it has a bigger team. So they can afford that. Also, ina game like ESO, a new class may bring back players or cause people to buy the game to try it. The Devs here have stated that new powers don't seem to move the needle much, so it isn't time well spent with their limited resources.
