Classic Time Capsule frustration

Three collections...have opened over 400 Time capsules for Black Adam. Got every collection but one...as always there's one drop that just never falls. In this case, it's the Non-Poisonous Ivy Flower for a really decent skin. Is there an algorithm for drops like these or do we just have to keep spinning the wheel (and spending real cash) or wait until it shows up on the broker for 999,999,999 in game bucks? Never mind...already know the answer. You gotta know how frustrating that is...memories of Flaming Phoenix Feather never leave.

100% agree. More than likely this one will stay on trade chat for around the 2 billion price or so.

The drop rate on the capstone collection's rare is extremely low, less than 1% seems about right. That's just how lootboxes are. It also hasn't been that long since the capsules launched, most people aren't selling for less than at least 1.5b. I'm sure it'll eventually show up on the broker for 990m.

Now should the drop rates be higher... IMO yes. Or at least have some form of "bad luck protection." I understand why they'd make the piece so rare from a revenue standpoint, but in terms of game design, I don't like the fact that a 50pt feat will never be completed by like... 99% of all players. Not because they're bad, but because they just won't be able to afford it. They can open hundreds of capsules — as you have, evidently — and still not be able to finish it. Of course, if you sold everything from those opened capsules, you'd probably have enough to afford to buy the rare, but it's a pretty roundabout solution.

I just think it's crazy how you could probably finish an entire time capsule's feats for 1.5-2b, and 70% of that budget is for just one item. Ignoring that total cost — shouldn't the split for the cost of the feats be more even?

I would just appreciate if they stop putting skins in capsules. It's not like we have a great amount of skins to choose from, either.

Why sell something at a reasonable price when you can gouge your customers for a chance to win it?

I had this queued up yesterday, but forgot to push 'Post Reply' as some trick or treaters came to the house and I never got back to it.

Never going to happen. Let's say 50 people were willing to pay $20 for that skin/style...that's 1000 bucks. To generate 50 of that stupid rare collection to get the style much more than 1000 TCs will need to be opened. Probably more like 10,000 with the abysmal drop rates. Even with free stabilizers in the mix, to eventually get those 50 people the style (and lets face it...come hell or high water, they will likely get it), they will make more money by putting desirable styles in TCs vs MP. Add in the fact that there are also people like me who want the style just for the SP they ALSO put on it, and for those 50 people to get the style they need it's probably more like 500 of those rare collections that will eventually need to be generated as many will never make it to the resale market due to consumption for the SP alone.

Can't go back at this point. I doubt the higher ups would even allow it if the entire dev team pushed for it.

Saw it on the Broker once.... at $999 999 999M..... never saw it again.

You have less then 1% chances to get it.
The odds are indicated at the bottom of the description for the TIme Capsules.

So sadly.... you could open 1000 TCs and still not get it.

Sadly you may end up having to play the looooong game and wait for the Skins to be on the Booster Gold vendor.

I am still missing the UBER Rare collection too.... although I did not open 400 TCs.

Did not get the Chroma either. Should have bought the Chroma $300M on the Broker when I had the chance.

By that time more desirable skins will be released and it will be a letdown.

When the first time capsule came out there was no ultra-rare. Most people who cared completed everything in three months. The second one had the Phoenix Material with the ultra-rare Flaming Phoenix Feather. Most people who cared still haven't gotten it.

With the vendor sale the other week I finally go the material. Will I use it? Probably not. But at least I got the feat out of the way and a LOT of cash for selling off the Amazon Time Capsules I still had.

There's literally a Skins Vendor in-game, an NPC where THAT'S THEIR WHOLE REASON FOR EXISTING! New Skins should logically have gone there, but NOOOOO, we have to put it in the Casino of Jack T. Chance Has NO Chance To Ever Get It!

I opened So many time capsule that I won't say anything and didn't get anyone so I ended up paying 700mill for it from the broker..700 MILL for a skin..And that is the cheapest I've seen it go for.

Time Capsules alone are evil but turning items into collections is next level. I wonder how Daybreak/DI are able to look themselves in the mirror each day. Unfortunately, people buy them and thus perpetuate the Time Capsules existence. I'm not sure what would happen if all the items in Time Capsules were put in the Marketplace but I would love to find out... however, being a realist, I understand this will never happen and this makes me sad. I have not and will never buy stabilizers ever. If I have to live without some styles and some feat points, so be it, I'm pretty good at making costumes with the styles I do have.

I have stopped even going after collections in time capsules. It's pointless. I'll open 100+ capsules and never see the ones I need, so I focus on emblems and then gear pieces.

Whatever I need after that will eventually make it to the Quarks vendor for me to purchase at a later date. If they sold individual collection pieces for Quarks in addition to the final reward, I would be more inclined to go after collection items knowing that I could supplement what I get from the capsules with whatever items I still need using Quarks.

I wish they would do this. It's annoying having uncompleted collections that I can never finish in my collections list.

Yeah, plus it would be annoying to have to spend a ton of quarks on the style item when you're only missing 1 collection piece. Would be nice to be able to just get that 1 piece for less quarks instead of spending so much when you're already so close.
