Paradox Hulks are disappointing.

I'll be that person and say that compared to the new Henchmen trinkets the Paradox Hulks are terrible. They are literally re-skins of Beastimorphs with purple color scheme.

Compared to the Paradox Reapers, FP Amazonian Warriors and the Water Golems who all have unique moveset and skills the Paradox Hulks are "Boring" and I won't sugar coat it.

I was expecting some cool quantum powers close to the Origin Crisis reapers but this was a huge letdown. Heck, they even have Paradox Reapers throwing Electrostatic bombs for some of their moves...

I'm probably going to get hate for this but I wanted to be someone who could be a voice that isn't afraid to let the Devs know when they fall short. I'll be looking forward to an updated version of this trinket.

Just got my hands on all the new Henchmen trinkets and I have to agree. Out of all of them currently the Paradox Hulks are underwhelming. (good damage wise though)

I was expecting them to do time bombs or distortion waves or something but all they do is the Beastimorph roar and electric zap attack...

Very sad about the Paradox Hulks. Also noticed that you had quite a good amount of views but no comments. It seems that people on here are still afraid to add their input when someone is asking the Devs to step it up a notch. It's like "oh no, you can't say anything bad about teacher!"

Anyway, people who are afraid to speak up is why the game either will or won't be changed in the upcoming future. Plus, constructive criticism is healthy if it's beneficial in the long run.

The thread was started (according to the time stamp) late on a Friday evening. Not exactly a booming time for forum activity to begin with.

As for why there were views but no comments? Folks could have read the thread but felt no need to comment. Others might have had rude things to say but went down the "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything" path. And so on and so forth.

A couple of the threads that...lingered over periods of time have very much shown that some around here are NOT averse to saying anything bad about the devs or complaining in general, especially when they aren't usually around (like late on a Friday night, the holidays or the weekend). There's an active thread where someone's voicing dissatisfaction with the trophies, after all.

What do you think about the Paradox Hulks in comparison to the other newer henchmen?

Hmmm ... they better than the other two.... Why? Because for me as a tank, the animation of their attacks interferes less than water golems, or any other animation that obscures the view and behind it you cannot see what the boss is doing ...

Ehmmm ... well, actually Henchmen Uplink Device : Paradox Reapers exists as rare drop(Last boss from event elite....), well, if you really need it, then in the broker also for....price of 100 million so far ...

I don't use henchmen much (if at all) in my playstyle, to be honest, so I don't have much of an opinion on the Paradox Hulk version one way or the other.

I tend not to get too much into deep discussions on aesthetics, because how good or bad something looks to individuals is highly subjective and there rarely is one "right" answer. As for performance, as long as their attacks are effective I'm not going to worry too much about how the henchmen attacks look on the occasions I do use them.

I would have elaborated more on these points when I first posted, but time got away from me and I had to end my first post where I did.

A good percentage of players won't have any opinion on specific henchmen or sidekicks because they're all underwhelming. That's a separate topic altogether from the op which is probably why some chose not to comment.

If we would have received anything near as amazing as that the drop rate would be 0.004% of a chance.

My problem is that they are literal re-skins and feel like they were lazily done. Also, if you like the way they play so much then wouldn't the normal Beastimorph trinket be good enough for you?

There are Paradox Reapers trinkets but it just has a abysmal drop rate.

Hmmm ... no? yes, I like how these trinkets behave (in terms of damage, by the way, the new one is a little better), but if you are not only chasing damage and utility, but also playing a role, then variety in appearance is important ... yes, I prefer non-intrusive animation, but this does not mean that the appearance can be any ...

I'm to think that maybe these trinkets are the beginning of power specific types? If so, Quantum has an unfortunate version so far. It can definitely be fix but as a quantum main myself I'm a good bit disappointed.

It's a matter of taste, but if what you say is true, then this is a very bad start. They are too poorly balanced in terms of damage, and it is the different attacks and their animations that are one of the biggest factors leading to the imbalance between these trinkets ....

These are not the start of power set specific types. If we were to try and offer that as a whole, then a few of the henchmen out there so far may qualify (Lantern and Water) and be used to that end but these would be revisited and balanced out to be the same/close enough DPS with one another to be fair to all the power sets.

Currently, these are a labor of love because I like offering more options for character customization and just themed rewards in general. Henchmen aren't a huge part of the meta game as we all know - they offer some damage, some CC at times, and some meat shield value in splitting up things that may KO them before they KO you. One day, a couple of us would like to do a proper pass on all of them to make them more in line with one another and more of a reskinning than anything else for character flavor.

It's not a small task due to different animations and attacks, as noted, but since they play such a small part of the meta (if any part) a few thousand hitpoints of damage isn't going to break the bank.

All that said, the Paradox Hulks were planned to be something else, art and animation issues at the 11th hour resulted in the original NPC to be axed so these were used instead, and a reskin did happen. There is a change in the pipeline that has a specialist Hulk in the top tier that does use some Quantum like powers that are reskinned with existing paradox graphics but these would not constitute a Quantum henchmen pet, even if we were to do such a thing (we'd make something different that better complimented the powerset like the Water Golems do). These are mixed in with the current bestial shouts they use, which are something Bestiamorphs use as well - just like there are a bunch of henchmen that use the same weapon attacks, you'll see reuse on things.

Also, these particular henchmen will also be updated visually to better match the other paradox demons out there with shifting hue skin and the like.
