Has Anyone come up with a temporary fix? to get around this log in issue?

i put the error in a google search and got quite a lot of results. going back to 2014 , with the same socket error, it says to uncheck proxy server use in internet options, but i dont think that is what fixes it now, cause i did what they said in a vid i watched and in the forum p;ost linked

pls if anyone has found a fix or developers, give an update on the DC UO forums, cause , my secondary pc the game works fine, but my brand new pc, ive had for a week, its not working

yesterday I couldn't download the update of 3 files.
in my case, I could see that it was specifically the following files that ask for update

UNREAL3/BINARIES/WIN32/VC_REDIST.X86.EXE
UNREAL3/BINARIES/WIN32/DCGAME.EXE
UNINSTALLER.EXE

I asked a friend who was not affected by the same problem as me, to pass me those 3 updated files from his computer

replace those files, and everything worked perfectly. I hope it serves you too.

Figured it out, i just totally copied the main client asset folders, and the files you said, and it works.
