Can someone kindly explain to me why the Grim artifact now is better for a Prec DPS than the Venom Wrist Dispenser? If this has been covered before, I apologize but could someone provide a link to where I may find an explanation?

    Thanks ahead of time.

Because the nerf to venom wrist pretty much put it as a below average artifact compared to other artifacts. Yes you do still get a buff for precision when using the a weapon buff. However the buff only last 6 seconds. Best case scenario it is on par with grim. However any form of interruption to your dps while it is active means the grim pulls ahead.

For example. If you just hit a weapon buff and the boss becomes untargetable because of mechanics, you just wasted your buff. You activate the buff but get CCed or interrupted, you just lost seconds of buff. You just used a weapon buff but a skull appears over the boss. You know have to block and waste your buff. A dps just died next to you. You lost your buff doing a pick up.

There are just so many things happening in actual combat that causes the buff to be wasted. However, with the grimorium, the passive damage is always active. Whether you have to do a pick up or block, even if you get CCed, you still get the passive damage. This is a reason why Pets passive damage are so good.

Not only that. Because grim sets up PI for you, you are able to run without a PI setter which tends to be weaker than other moves at your disposal. Instead of having to set up PI you can use a move that does more damage when PI is set.

It was different back when venom was stronger. The buff made it worth using even with all those situations that make it unusable in its current state. Atm, no prec specific artifacts are better than the trio set up. That being trans, strat, grim. All of which are for both prec and might.

What DietySupreme said, plus the fact it gives 5% Might and a some base might too. The better precision loadouts all clip might powers and some powersets have might based SC’s that outperform Neo-Venom. So the grim is buffing those as well and even slightly strengthening the strategist DoT when proc’d by a might power.

Venom won’t even be on par with grim anymore when the new dlc releases, and that’s because the grim pet scales with your cr, which of course equates to better damage. Making all prec specific arts completely obsolete once the new dlc hits since venom was the only prec oriented art that was worth using
