Every power has a weapon buff, I get it. but are some actually better than others? I am celestial, but would a gadget weapon buff be better? Just using that as an example. Thanks!
Effectiveness and duration is the same. Where they differentiate is in the animation and how clippable it is or what abilities it can clip. But that has just as much, if not more, to do with the whole of a powersets ability offerings as with the weapon buff by itself.
Also, the powers with a "detaunt" shield (the Controller powers) tend to fare better, since they can pass the aggro on to someone else should their damage cause them to get the aggro... thus allowing them to freely continue to do damage without fear of being countered or CC'd.
While I understand what you’re saying, it has nothing do with weapon buffs. Also, it is rare to see anyone running a personal shield as an endgame elite DPS.
