Aside from just being a "statement" name, in professional e-sports, and I mean dating back to LAN tournaments, they're usually clan tags either in front or back of your IGN. I know some leagues still do this but only a few here in DCUO.

Every name is orginal by that standard.

Yeah, you are also talking about a time when changing that name or 'clan tag' didn't cost 10 bucks a pop. I used to play with my =GOM= tags in Quake 2 or UT when I was in 'Gods of Mortality' clan....but when I dropped out of the clan it was just a quick setup file edit and the tags were gone. If all the league hoppers in this game were required to add tags DBG would be able to eliminate loot boxes with all the new name change revenue.
