'Supernatural' Star Jensen Ackles Cosplays as the Red Hood for Halloween

Once again, Supernatural star Jensen Ackles has taken on the mantle of the Red Hood, this time for a Halloween cosplay photo shoot.

On Wednesday afternoon, Ackles shared a series of photos from the shoot on his Instagram, wishing his followers a happy Halloween and low-key making the case for why he should play Jason Todd if the opportunity ever presents itself.

"Bringin the Red Hood back for Halloween," Ackles wrote in the post. "Feels good...real good. Hope y'all have a wicked day, today. Remember... eat ALL the candy!"

Check out the photos of the costume below!

Ackles, who has played Dean Winchester for 14 years on The CW's Supernatural, voiced the Red Hood in the DC animated movie Batman: Under the Red Hood. Since then, fans have long wanted Ackles to take on the live-action version of the character, and Ackles only fueled the fire earlier this year, when he posed with a Red Hood suit.

In August, the actor shared an image of himself coming face to face with the Red Hood, and people once again held out hope that he would eventually get the chance to take on Jason Todd.

However, it looks as though Ackles will just continue his Red Hood role as a cosplayer. In the meantime, Jason Tood will be coming to the Titans TV series on DC Universe. Actor Curran Walters will play this version of the character, who is still serving as Batman's sidekick, Robin.

As comic fans know, Jason Todd is eventually killed while fighting alongside Batman. He later rises from the grave and takes on the mantle of Red Hood, an adversary of Gotham's heroes. After a period of fighting against Batman, Red Hood becomes yet another hero in the city.

That guy at the bottom is credited in the crossover as Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan. In the comics, Doctor John Dee is Justice League villain Doctor Destiny. I see they were kind of hinting at his skull head in the above comic cover.

Is it just me, or does it look like Oxenfree needs to do a few (dozen) situps?
And who's the chick with the Mister Freeze-o-ray? o_O

I have read that Nora Fries is supposed to be involved somehow, and they did namedrop Victor a week or so ago in The Flash.

No, that was my thoughts exactly seeing him in that Flash suit in the back of the pic....

Okay, can accept a clean shaven 'Arrow', butt a hairy-faced pot-bellied Flush? So many "Nopes!!"
And we have seen him shirtless (far too many times!), so it must be the suit

That clip hit me with so much nostalgia when they included the Flash 1990s theme

Kept myself out of the loop on hints or spoilers for the crossover, and even found myself wondering what other surprises they might have in store after the John Wesley Shipp Flash reveal.

I think the immediate threat in part one of the crossover counted as a nice little surprise. :D

She IS Batwoman. Ruby was born to play the part!

The number of easter eggs they're throwing into the crossover is just short of astounding. And there's still one more episode left in the event, for crying out loud!

They've definitely set the table well for a spinoff series, that's for sure.

I guess Fox wasn't as savvy when they picked up Batman (which apparently didn't cover the whole Batman "Family") as they were when they picked up the X-men (which apparently covers anyone who was ever a member of an X-men team).

RRs Batwoman was awesome; it was like the cut her out of the comics and made her alive. Looking forward to more :)

Also this crossover being a prequel to COIE... I'm really curious how they will pull that one off. I mean its the ultimate cosmic hero grinder and then some; I fear they might bite there more than they can chew. Flashpoint IMO being a prime example of a big namedrop they like to use without any big effect in that universe opposed to comic Flashpoint.

Hope they paddle back on this weird "Supergirl is so much stronger than Superman" prep talk as soon as both appear. It does not really make her look stronger if it needs to be repeated that often.

*sigh* I need a cryo chamber to skip the waiting phase :D

At least they said "Fall" so the wait may not be THAT long. :D
