So, AMC is doing a marathon, currently on season 5 , at the church, Glenn n Abraham are arguing, all I can think of is Glenn's eyeball popping out

I'm hoping everyone understands that when the season starts back up that they're not going to jump right into the war. I suspect this might drag into next season.

Any idea who the girl in the flannel is? Stopped watching when Denise was killed
  10. CHUD Loyal Player

    Tara. She is Denise's girlfriend.
  11. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

Oh right, she was the reason why Denise went on that trip and died, but thought Tara had left or died or something because Denise was saying how she regretted not telling her how she felt (or something)

LOL. How many suicide attempts does this season need anyway? That crazy guy Richard had it coming. Rick's ferris wheel fail. Now, Sasha and Rosita. Don't get me wrong, I loved last Sundays episode with Morgan and I'm sticking to the show but many are being turned off with the show dragging as reported with the drop in ratings. Hopefully this season pans out

Came to the (controversial) idea that Rick and his gang are not the Good Guys, they are the roaming Death and Chaos, worse than the walkers themselves

Everywhere they go, the walkers soon follow behind: they find a group, isolated or fortified, surviving the best they can, making a go at getting 'back to normal', Rick and Co show up, and within four episodes the walkers have shown up and started laying siege

That group that Glenn was part of, didn't last long after Rick arrived, same with Carol's group: walkers showed up and munched on half of the group, survivors were kinda forced to join with Rick to survive

The farm with the old man and his daughters, wasn't long before walkers showed up forcing them on the run

The prison seemed like it would be okay, because it's just Rick's crew, right? Maybe, butt they were too close to The Governor's walled town, close enough that the walkers camping outside the prison gates became noticeable and a threat

Then we had the Hospital, they were doing well, fending for themselves, saving a few they could, butt they had the audacity to 'rescue' one of Ricks girls, so they were next to be overrun

Move on to Alexandria, a community that had been surviving nicely, butt Rick and Crazy Carol decided they were 'too soft' and forgot what it was like 'outside', ignoring the fact the 'outside' staid outside and well away that they had become 'soft' (or 'safe'). They had everything one could need to survive: electricity, crops and clean water, they even had a few 'hunters' who would periodically go out looking for survivors and resources and deal with the occasional walker that entered the area. They even had a nearby quarry they used to contain a 'herd'
Butt nope, Rick wanted to be the one on charge, so first he decided to 'move the herd' instead of just blowing them up, with the obvious result in the herd not following where he wanted them to go and instead headed to the weakened Alexandria (weakened because one of Ricks group thought it would be better to expand the walls, butt only did a half-arzed job before the herd business diverted attention)

After that, it was found out that Alexandria wasn't an isolated community butt part of a wider community of co-existing groups, lead by Negan and his 'Saviours', who were doing a great job of keeping the various groups safe, they just had to follow certain rules to keep from falling into chaos and anarchy, of course Rick and his mob don't follow no bodies rules butt their own, so instead of either moving on or joining (and possibly being split up, sending individuals to the communities that could use their 'talents') they decided to start a war

And now, after The Chosen One got bit escorting someone not connected to Negan, and telling Rick about his Vision of a Safe Future, Rick decides to take his rage out on Negan, who had nothing to do with what happened to TCO!!

So yeah, short version: Rick is the Spreader of Chaos and Destruction and Death, not the Saviour or even just One of the Good Guys

Naturally to say (or type), this is just POO

To quote Jules Winfield, "allow me to retort":

The original camp-They found Rick and not the other way around. They were sitting ducks out in the open. And Shane was a loose cannon. Rick still saw Shane as a friend. Shane saw someone who dared want his own wife back.

The Farm-Otis shooting Carl is what brought the group to the farm. The farm was also a ticking timebomb as they were keeping walkers in the barn and would go out and find walkers to bring to the farm. The place getting overrun was a deus ex machina that made no sense(when Shane opened the barn and the group spent 10 minutes shooting them and after all was quiet. Carl shoots zombie Shane one time and every walker in a 20 mile radius hears it and invades the farm).

The prison-The group were getting along fine at the prison. It was the governor who pushed up on them first, not the other way around and it was the governor who attacked the prison, not the other way around. Had the governor stayed at Woodbury and minded his own business, they'd still be at the prison.

The neighborhood Rick, Carl, and Michonne happened upon-They would have been find had it not been for that band of marauders. Rick killing that guy was in self defense and if they had been caught, all 3 would have been killed.

Terminus-These scumbags should have been wiped out completely.

The Hospital-They were using slave labor not to mention that they kidnapped Beth. Rick was going to let it go when they got Beth back but Beth stabbed the leader and she killed Beth.

Alexandria-Rick was right. Their walls were not secure. Remember when they got overrun? Wasn't anything Rick's group did, it was the shoddy tower that fell. Walkers are everywhere. Can't do anything about that. over 300 million people in the country with probably 85% of them dead. That's a lot of walkers.

The Saviors-Negan is evil, plain and simple. They're thugs who use intimidation and threats, which they carry out, to get what they want. Unless they're willing to change their ways, they deserve everything they're about to get.

Just my opinion. And Ricks group isn't bad or inept, they're just written that way. There are so many plot holes, deus ex machinas, and other dumb stuff in the writing that it's hard to keep up.

Oh, and wouldn't so much as say the Farm was a ticking timebomb as much as a powder keg, that Rick not only provided the fuse for butt considerately lit it, isn't he such a wonderful and helpful and kind man?

    1) Its but, not butt. Thats a whole different word with a whole different meaning

    2) Your defence of Negan sounds like how we imagine Hitler justified his actions in his own head. To cut this short, anyone who goes around using the threat of violence to con people into entering a "protection racquet" should not be defended. Good is good, bad is bad, and a bully is a bully.

    3) "Walkers" will always find communities. Its something genius in its simplicity that World War Z (book) pointed out, that the scariest thing about Zombies is that for every person the survivors lose, the other side gains. They'll always be outnumbered no matter what. As for being found, its just about when not if. The places they've been (bar the farm) most likely had other communities in them that also got wiped out. Its how that world works now. Imagining Rick is the harbinger of destruction is going overboard. But then theres the last point:

    4) I think you missed the point of all the previous seasons. Everyones a killer, there are no good guys. Carls dream is about building back to being good, but with the war going on that cant happen which is why Negan was in his dream. Nobody who wages war is good. Talking about the "higher-ups" ofc because soldiers just follow orders. "Fighting for peace is like f***ing for virginity". The series from probably around the 4th or 5th episode has been us following the "better of 2 evils", not "good":
    Ricks Group or Walkers
    Ricks Group or Cannibals
Ricks Group or a Psychopathic Governor
Ricks Group or a Sociopath who gets his army to call themselves by his own name

There is no good. Just better options than others and thats it.
