Before anyone starts with the membership ftw, master race or any other dumb comment revolving around me "not being a legendary member" I am legendary. The locked escrow is one of the worst features of this game. It discourages F2P and premium members and specifically glorifies being legendary. What about people who are limited on cash or simply want to enjoy playing the game? My best friend quit playing DCUO specifically for the locked escrow reason. This was 2+ months ago. Locking escrow just makes it hard on people. All too often I'm in an alert/raid and I hear "I can't repair...I'm just a premium member, I'm out of cash". Seriously devs? That's a load of crap. There should not be cash limitations just because someone won't or can't buy legendary. So my plee is, AS A LEGENDARY MEMBER, please get rid of escrow and open the game up a little more. You guys are already banking thousands and thousands of dollars off of every other little thing you charge for in the game. Thank you

Considering all the other benefits that legendary gets this makes sense to me, but the community, mostly the legendary players who have paid the piper for a quite a while will disagree…

Here are the monthly benefits to legendary members…
    500 loyalty points - $5
    150 replay badges - $5
    Unlimited lockbox keys -$2.5 a key….
    All in game content

These items easy cover the $15 cost of the membership each month…

However, what if you are a casual player and don't need these benefits, but could use the in game cash…

The answer is simple, buy a monthly membership… because it also gives you unlimited in game cash….

I am on the fence with this idea….I like it but at the same time it would make an imbalance to those that are F2P and premium…I say raise the in game cash for premium based on the number of DLCs purchased, but not make it unlimited…

Right now I carry Soda's around for those that need in game cash, I rather be carrying them around not for in game cash to help them repair gear but simply to give out to those that need them…

First, there are PLENTY of workaround that make the cash cap a relative nonfactor in one’s DCUO gaming experience.

Second, SOE is running a BUSINESS, and while I’m not always a fan of their business practices, their goal is for us to SPEND cash in this game, not for us to simply enjoy ourselves.

In the end, if you choose to play a F2P game that’s financial model is designed around micro-transactions and you don’t want to spend CASH, then you might as well uninstall the game ASAP!!!
  4. MEBegnalsFan Devoted Player

Reading what one writes is important...he is in defence of those that are premium and F2p...I'm not all about giving everything away for the F2P players, sorry you don't pay you don't get a say...

However, premium players that have made some financial investment should have some words...other than my monthly membership cost, when I was premium I purchased over $200 worth of stuff in this game from MC to all of the DLCs....so should I be limited if I go premium....I mean I invested quite a bit and I was hoping for a bit more....but nope...I won't have it....which is one reason why I stay premium...

Tell you the truth this is the first game where I broke my rule of not investing more than $100 in a game...yet this game has given to me the exact same enjoyment that Dragon Age Orgins did and that cost me only $100 for all content....

There is already an active thread on this topic....
    https://forums.station.sony.com/dcu...ad-ideas-to-solve-the-money-cap-issue.217801/

Your "plee" aside... DCUO needs to earn it's place in SoEs lineup.... and Mepps needs to get paid.... it's a business and it needs make a profit. Can you think of a better way to make the same revenue?

One of the more recent Cash-cap (credit cap) threads from just before Amazon Fury DLC launch is an interesting read even though it was mistaken information. It also shows the Devs commitment to holding the line on the $2000 cap - simply because the gear price was never intended to exceed $2000
    https://forums.station.sony.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/breaking-news-better-sub-up-now.200033/

The way the DCUO crew has decide to monetize the game is extremely fair. Perhaps in the future this model will change, but it will be to increase player retention and maintain profitability.

If a player plans on playing premium and wants to reach end-game content, they should expect to have to buy Escrow tokens along the way.

The developers have clearly stated their feeling on the topic. for example:
    https://forums.station.sony.com/dcu...-the-premium-cash.176978/page-23#post-2118218
"Unlimited cash is a perk of the Legendary Membership, and there are several marketplace options for the Premium player looking to take advantage of more in-game cash. Currently there are no plans for changes, though we do appreciate the feedback and discussion."

We do offer escrow withdrawals and the 7 day unlimited escrow unlock for Premium players who wish to take full advantage of the in-game economy. Unlimited cash is a feature of the Legendary Membership.

We are always looking for ways to improve the experience for all players, and that includes adding to and improving the membership. The way we're introducing Supergirl for Legends is just one example of that.
To the cash cap specifically, we recognize it's a major point of friction for non-members, and a major part of membership for members. We're open to ideas and solutions, so please continue to post yours. We are reading.

Over a year worth of threads and chances are anything written in this thread has been written before....
So, you need to try a unique argument that works for the Devs....not Premium vs Legendary. These threads should help you understand the history. I would encourage you to try the search feature on the website, in the future. Searching before creating a thread can save many newposters endless hours on the cash-cap hamster wheel or similarly over discussed topics.

If I may before this thread gets locked or merged with another, I was a proponent of the cash cap being removed up until a couple hours ago. I now realize the folly of that idea.
    1. In other free to play games where currency is not limited, currency is harder to come by. Cash in this game is very easy to accumulate.
    2. The best currency option for making DLC items available to Premiums and Legendary players alike would be to have items sell for two currencies. Have one item for the current cash cost, and have another copy of the same item that sells for a currency that requires time spent to acquire, i.e. marks of triumph/fury/etc.
    3. There needs to be a point where a Premium player weighs the options of investing time or investing money. If a player values time more, as most do, the player will invest money for a convenience. I do think there needs to be an option for Premium members to be able to acquire the same items that Legendary players can, i.e. Equipement Interfaces, Soder Enhancers, Catalysts, etc., but there needs to be a time sink required to do so, and it should be a pretty substantial time sink, in my opinion.
  9. Ninja'd Dedicated Player

I'm a premium and I use to think like that. Then it hit me. I can ask my local legendary friends to help me out. I can trade exos or "rare" base items as a method to pay them back if they want. This is a really simple way to bypass the cap and shouldn't be too hard at all. I mean it not like you are playing a Massive Multiplayer Online Action Game alone right?
  10. tukuan Devoted Player

Don't forget All Access for PC Members. Also as a legendary since launch, I've always been for the idea of incremental increases to prem wallet cap based on DLCs purchased.

That being said I don't see rehashing this argument as accomplishing anything this time that it hasn't the X number of times it's come up before.
  11. Bokugo New Player

What do you guys think the first issue new players run into? "Where is my money going? What's this escrow? I have to pay money to access it? Pfffft, later game"

If I had a dollar for every time that happened.....

Please add your constructive feedback on Escrow to one of the threads linked above. Thank you!
