I would bet most of us have on more than one occasion been playing DCUO when the graphics for all HUD display goes out. It's hard... no... "interesting". It's interesting to troll an alert while you have no HUD. I found that I was better with the double ticks of PoT cycles ending and starting because I had to track PoT by the ticks without a lightning bolt buff icon to look at. Also (and I must credit previous experience to be able to do this) I'm pretty sure I didn't overfeed the group, nor let anyone drop too low or empty for more than a second or two. I had to gauge (guess at) how much power the groupmates were using based on their animations. I was also able to gather that the 2 DPS I was with were about 53-59 CR, and the nature healer was a T5. I might have failed to keep up with the healer's bar to full potential, but no one went down in the instance. So, enough, at least. Although I did see one person call in a supply drop 3/4 way through the final boss. Interesting, indeed.
I've done this many times. The graphical bugs in this game are through the roof. Sometimes tapping escape twice will bring it back, sometimes not.
"It was designed that way." I did not know that. Thanks. I tried adjust the scale of the UI back and forth, to no avail.
Very challenging! Should be a setting where you could shut it off. See how well you know that load out and rotations.... IA ARMY
Yep, in Ops, it can be annoying when you have a long way to travel to the next objective. I know what you mean by being better instinctively rather than looking for the bolt, though. If it happens in a raid, it's easier to "count the ticks' as you say and just recast when someone has to be revived. I tend to "overfeed" when I'm tired or bored. It's been one of the hardest things for me to discipline. That, and over debuffing.
It's happened to me in the middle of Paradox EO, pre-nerf. I freaked out and everyone just said to "deal with it" and try my best. We were all on raidcall together, so they called out if there were any significant power outtages. Third mini in, we failed. We didn't make it that try not because of power, but because of people not paying attention to ravager's first charge.
Yes...and due to the fact trolling is purely timing I didn't actually notice when it happened for a bit, when I did realise I cursed myself for not taking the chance and recording but out of all the roles, controller is probably the least affected once you have the timing. Our healer has this more than I do and normally I just call on TS3 how many need saving and she does the relevant heal so 1 or 3 or oh crap is normally to be heard
When you look at a teammate they'll have a little health bar above them (if they're in combat and taking damage).
Yea I had it happen once before i think up date 34? no HUD just told everyone if I'm messing up to shout. No one complained just I'm a trained monkey now with my rotation and counting to 20 LOL
Just once when I had Controller in the Outer Cavern Raid. I thought it was odd and funny at the same time but my group made it through.
its happened to me trolling before and TBH it was fairly easy since i have kept my powerbar loadout in the same order forever : PoT, debuff, debuff, SC, escape, recharge in fact im pretty sure ive trolled Gates with my eyes closed one or two times. worst no HUD/ powerbar situation ive ran into though was with my celestial dps trying to time combos and refreshes. even though i know where everything is i still use the visual cues alot more than when i troll. mostly comes down to how long you've used the same loadout though.,,, and yeah it sucks, but can be sorta challenging and fun in a way as well. good for achange of pace and def keeps you on your toes.
Id assume that the hud often disappearing is a glitch occurring from them adding the option to turn it off which I believe is supposed to be coming soon if not already added.
PvE can be done with your eyes closed most times especially with a skilled group, but when your HUD gives out in PvP, game over lol. Try dueling or any group arena and you'll be ready to throw your controller thru the tv screen. Im sick of that HUD glitch I swear it only gives out at the worst times, when its a close fight. I am very thankful this isn't a GU36 post as well though. im sick of the whiners who watch youtube vids and qq all day. Most of the qqers i bet are wearing logistics officer gear LOL.
