Was the demotion of FP announced?

I did not get on test recently, but was FP supposed to be bumped down to EEG and 'retired' from endgame? Not sure why they wouldn't have waited a few weeks for Black Adam to launch, but some advanced notice would have been nice. There were a few feats I might have ground out while still 52 CR over the content level....vs 15.

Also, why isn't FP dropping (OW boxes at least) the 320 scaling gear the vault and Clarion drop? It's still dropping FP 'endgame' gear.

And where's my bonus mark for opening the Large boxes with 2 head augs in? Wayne casino tokens were converted to source....the head aug rewards +1 Wayne casino tokent...so that should be +1 Source now....right?

So I guess going forward we have to be aware that the next episode to be rotated out into Omnibus and thus made redundant in it's currency which will be converted into SM will always now be a couple weeks BEFORE the new DLC episode drops now? So probably League of Doom will go to Omnibus sometime in mid March (assuming the next episode after Black Adam works out then) and Justice tokens will be converted to SM. I'm not against getting Wayne Casino Tokens getting converted early it's just I know some players myself included were farming them in advance of the next episode dropping so a heads up would've been cool. Luckily I was almost at max cap for them so I got my nearly one thousand Source Marks on a few toons. Well I get to drop diligently running Flashpoint content now off my schedule cause it's gone to Omnibus Valhalla ;)

  5. BumblingB I got better.

FYI, they have a 3 DLC rule for Omnibus. When a new episode comes out, the 3rd oldest falls into EEG.

To be honest, Flashpoint was technically 4 DLCs, because we also had a half tier Save the Universe DLC last year.

Man I still couldn't get those Royal War Elite feats EVEN WITH +52 :/

But I guess I can finally check and see if it's any "easier now" and/or determine if it's an "outlier" or not :)

My guess is it probably is. Won't be able to check til I get home from the hospital, however.

Edit: Oh and trying to scrounge up a group of OP veterans for 3 hours

Im curious on how the scaling is done on the different stages in FFE and if that was tested at all before.

Im still hoping to get the slowing effect going on those wandering spiders - The only enemy this effect makes sense on and yet is immune to it. :D

Yea agreed, further notice on it rotating out early with a small window for sorting out unopened boxes/feats etc. would have been a nicer touch.

Did they confirm that it was the loot part that is being looked into or simply the text on the boxes? I didn't get the impression anyone is getting those +1 Mark's anymore from unopened boxes judging by the last poster's comment about Legion's boxes never having gived that extra one after it moved into EEG.

Just one question: What is "EEG"?

NEVER assume that people know what your abbreviations mean! You should ALWAYS post the full phrase, fully written out, at least once per post. That way those who aren't "in the know" will know what the drok you're talkin' about! :p

THANK YOU - I did work it out, but it's nice to see someone say that out loud. I need a quick reference lexicon.. CT, CTR, TSWE etc

I'm also intuiting from comments rather than knowing something for sure - does the clamp change how players CR works once it moves beyond a certain stage? I thought that was already in operation, although maybe I was simply experiencing the difference between event level and regular in Queen's Row Penitentiary?

Since I reported both bonus mark and text issues, I believe it's both.

Good luck figuring this one out...

It's more confusing the more you try and make sense of it.

We have stat piercing (no one has been able to explain how this works exactly), but our CR in that content took a pretty big hit compared to what was allowed before it rolled into Early End Game.

Apparently when it hit into EEG, the enemies were clamped down as well into tier 6 level content. From what I was told by someone, all enemies in that tier are the same CR. Haven't bothered confirming it yet, just jumped in last night and saw the massive dip in stats.

The system seems kind of convoluted, but maybe that's just me.

This is the original post from Panderus when this all began.

    Stat Scaling & Piercing

Finally, I want to talk about how stat scaling and what we call stat piercing work, because it is not apparent in-game and especially not apparent right here at the transition. MMO math is complicated.

In brief, when your stats are scaled down, they are first set to target numbers for that content's particular expected Combat Rating - currently +10 Combat Rating over the content's NPC levels. This factors in your role and is essentially just your gear being scaled back in time.

Then, piercing. Some of your stats are applied after that initial scaling. A percentage of your stats from Skill Points, Artifacts, Augments, Allies, and League Buffs "pierce" through and are added separately.

That this is a percentage is important. A percentage means all of these things you work for in growing your character still increase your power in scaled content. 40% of 100 Skill Points is more than 40% of 50 Skill Points, and so on. These percentages may see adjustments as we work through feedback.

Depending on whether or not you are being scaled up or scaled down, and depending on the content type (solo, raid, etc.), there is an additional buff applied to your character of varying strength. Why? This buff is primarily to adjust survivability for an environment where you will more likely be playing with other players with varying levels of experience.

All of this happens so that we can hit our goal of inviting you to play Omnibus content, get rewards, and still feel powerful playing the game - to a point that stops before you are one-shot gods not having to really play anything.

It was then followed up by this.

Here's what we expect to dig into:
    • Increase the scaling "target" Combat Rating to +15 from NPC level
    • Decrease the early end game buff for players being scaled down in On Duty content
    • Increase the early end game buff for players being scaled down in On Duty content WHEN at least half of the group is being scaled up
    • Increase damage for players being scaled up in On Duty content
    • Allow block to heal players being scaled up in On Duty content
    • (Stretch) Investigate allowing full "stat piercing" to all players in elite versions of content (instead of stats diminishing)
      • This means all of your effort into skill points, artifacts, etc. will fully apply in elites
It was then followed up by this.

Feature Update: Omnibus & Early End Game
To further address feedback on stat scaling in the Omnibus, we've taken the following additional measures:
    • Normal mode EEG now has full stat piercing, which was formerly only reserved for Elite mode EEG.
    • Elite mode EEG now scales players down to +20 Combat Rating (up from +15).
    • Players being scaled up in Elite Mode EEG are now scaled an additional +10 Combat Rating.
    • Elite mode EEG now has the Early End Game buff. Unlike in Normal mode, players get full access to the buff, without any requirements on their team.
    • Down-scaled Combat Rating was fixed for Tier 6 (the latest) EEG content: it is now 337 for non-Elite mode content and 342 for Elite mode content.
    • Reduced the jump in Combat Rating between bosses to just +2 in Elite mode EEG. This includes reducing the starting NPC level for Elite content with fewer than 3 bosses, such as Fractured God Sphere in Tier 6.
    • Down-scaled players in Elite mode EEG may now block to heal.

    Any questions?

Not really. It pretty straight forward and you pretty much said how it worked while trying to say you don’t understand how it worked.

Game divided into 2 sections. EEG and EG.
EG has not clamp while EEG does.
Clamp will clamp you to the cr of the tier you’re facing. It will also clamp all enemies to the cr of said tier too.
Stats from your sp will pierce through
Pierce means extra stats from sp get added even after they are clamped to said cr.

No it was not announced until after the fact in the live update notes for GU129. This completely ruined my ability to record my previous output performance to compare it to after EEG results. I thought I would have more time to do so since the new DLC isn't even on Test yet as far as I know.

Oh well. Lesson learned if I am still playing when the next DLC after Sins drops next year, which at this point, I honestly don't know if I want to anymore.
  18. Grim931 Committed Player

    In all seriousness, yes.

I feel like it would be to everyone's advantage to be able to see exactly what's going on with the piercing stats. So can we see all of this on our stats page?

Don't just say it's there. Show me. I want to actually see the progress I'm making. I want to see the buffs I may or may not be getting. I want to know if this is working as intended. I want to know if the CR disparity between EEG and EG is going to keep climbing.

Seems like with every new DLC falling into its EEG counterpart, the stats are going to keep growing in separate ways. EEG and EG are going to have a higher CR difference the closer it comes to the end of Tier 6 content. Was this accounted for or am I mistaken?

Still vote for this to be optional, but this probably isn't the place for that. This might help clear up some confusion over EEG though, because it's not really that clear what's actually going on.

Why do you need me to hold your hand? lol, take all your stuff off go into something clamped and start putting it all back on to see what it does to the stats.
  20. Grim931 Committed Player

Are you a Dev? I'm not asking you to do this, asking in general if it could be provided...

Didn't think it was that much to ask to actually see what's going on. No reason for you to be difficult over it either, this might actually benefit some. Could point out bugs, things might not be working as intended, and you could see progress. Why hide it?
