Weird MICROPHONE problem - not transmitting sound.

So I've got this weird (but apparently quite common) problem where the transmit doesn't work whilst it does pick up sound but just can't seem to transmit it. Thing is, if i spam the enable disable voip button while making a test it works... kinda. Video will show you what I mean. Help would be appreciated!

I have this exact same problem, any help would be greatly appreciated. Asus Xonar essence STX sound card. I don't believe i had this issue until a recent hotfix but I've tried just about everything short if a full reformat trying to fix it.

powerz, hit me up on skype tomorrow I accidently made the mic transmit in planetside 2, It still doesn't work when testing the playback option but when talking in-game it works... for some reason, which it didnt before. I'm having the same exact problem. The playback test doesn't work and I get the same strange noise. I updated my sound driver. I have an ASUS 64 MB with Intel Core i7-2600K CPU (8 core) with built in Realtek HD audio. The mic works fine in Windows 7 but not in Planetside2? This is really annoying. I'm using a Razer Carcharias pro gaming headset.

I have the very same problem. Mic has been working fine until the last update. Just as you decribe it in your video... really strange and frustrating. I have been platoon leader many times, and have many certs in leading, but must decline now everytime, as I can't communicate with anyone anymore. Mic works on all other programs, and I have tried with both headset mic and webcam mic. I'm using the buildin Realtek card on my Dell XPS computer...
Any workaround or fix will be very welcome...

I'm also having the EXACT same problem. Worked fine until game update 1.

Same = VOIP test worked, ingame worked. Does not work anymore. TS3/Skype all still work.

There's no independent way of analyzing PS2 treating our microphones differently from other VoIP applications.

Same, in beta everything worked.
Since retail it's been hit or miss.
Since the last patch or two voip is almost 100% broken for me.

Update for me. My mic is working fine in game. It's just the record test that's failing.

Exact same problem. PlanetSide 2 has fundamental problems with USB microphones. I'm on the Soundblaster 3D Tactics Alpha headset here as well using its USB dongle. The headset including mic works brillantly in any other application (whether it's game, Ventrilo, Mumble, etc.) but Planetside 2.

Same issue here. I have not tried spamming the "enable" button but everything else is the same.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!! For whatever reason this worked for me...

Its not clicking it off and on that is doing it, if you just DISABLE voice then do the test it works. I did a test with voice enable NOT checked it worked. Then i rechecked it did no more tests, and it worked in game.
