I have been playing Planetside 2 for about two weeks now and things have been going relatively smoothly. The game would sometimes freeze but after I minimized the game and opened it back up it would continue to work. Today was the first time the freeze actually lead to a crash. I went into windows event viewer and found out the game has been racking up application errors for the entire time I have been playing the game. I have 50+ errors from just the past 7 days. My friend who does not play the game nearly as much as me has a few of these same error 1000 and 1005s as well. Does anyone know why these are happening and a way to prevent them? Here are examples of the errors Error 1000 Example: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 12/21/2012 5:01:24 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: XXXX Description: Faulting application name: PlanetSide2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50d2d8a1 Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x7fffffff Faulting process id: 0x1348 Faulting application start time: 0x01cddfc642dd3e4f Faulting application path: C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2\PlanetSide2.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: f5563d28-4bb9-11e2-9b71-bcaec574c13d Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2012-12-21T22:01:24.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>31904</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Ramin-PC</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>PlanetSide2.exe</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>50d2d8a1</Data> <Data>unknown</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>00000000</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>7fffffff</Data> <Data>1348</Data> <Data>01cddfc642dd3e4f</Data> <Data>C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2\PlanetSide2.exe</Data> <Data>unknown</Data> <Data>f5563d28-4bb9-11e2-9b71-bcaec574c13d</Data> </EventData> </Event> Error 1005 Example: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 12/21/2012 12:23:08 AM Event ID: 1005 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: XXXXX Description: Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. It's really easy to check these events for those who don't know. Just go to 'run' and type in eventvwr and you will be able to see any application errors that occur on your computer and the program that it is happening to. I also seemed to notice the errors occur at the time of closing the game but I'm just not sure why it is happening.
Just curious, can you check your My Pictures folder and see if there are a bunch of .tmp files in there?
If you are referring to the regular My Pictures in the document folder area I looked and there is nothing there; just the regular sample pictures the computer came with
I'm having the same issue. Every time I play PS2 I get these 1000 and 1005 errors in my event viewer. There are no .tmp files in My Pictures.
I'm getting the same errors too lately. The game has started freezing and I need to go into task manager to end the process. Error's 1000, 1002 and 1005.
as far as i know from my experience the game always crashes with errors when closing it down from the beta testing to know these errors have always been there as for recent crashes they haven't reset the servers for a few weeks now and no maintenance has not been done
