I was also thinking a questline about a hOOooorrrrible monster would be great and it winds up being a butterfly or something (technically I was thinking of a particular rabbit with very pointy teeth, but ya know... probably copyright stuff there)

Ooo!!! How about a pet skunk! One that's a house pet but can also follow you out into the world. And on April 1st.. can umm "spray attack" (like once every 4 hours) unsuspecting players making their charisma go down (kinda like the skunks around Butcherblock Mountains in EQ1); meaning merchants will ignore said players for a few minutes because the stench is that bad. Or maybe NPCs will just ask you not to stand near them. They could even make the "OMG you stink" gesture as they tell players to return after the stench is gone . But be careful.. you never know with skunks.. the owner might also be a victim.. it is Bristlebane day after all.. :p

Also.. I think it'd be funny to play a funny lil' joke on unsuspecting harvesters on April 1st as well. Say, you found and start harvesting a beast den and suddenly */gasp* You get the message: "You have gathered a pile of dung".. Have a lil' animation to go with it like the player going OMG and shaking the "stuff" off their hands.. :D. Harvesting can be a bit tedious sometimes.. making it funny once a year wouldn't hurt. This might not happen to everyone (kinda like the Ethereal Weapon drops..) SO, just be ready to take screenshots and/or record the moment with the in-game feature to share on youtube.. ;).

I dunno. When you are doing the Gathering Obsession questline, it is hard enough to get the den harvests you need from among the valid choices (except for pelts - you can get heaps of pelts)*. Imagine how much harder it would seem if you had an additional chance to get dung. o_O

    * Especially in Zek, for some reason.

Well.. I think it could still work and be funny at the same time. What if the pile of dung was also a house item.. and the chance to get one would be as thin as harvesting a Ripe Pomegranate (\aITEM 1575558405 -1396127622:Ripe Pomegranate\/a) from the lil' nodes in the Shard of Love. It could make an umm "interesting" addition for a stable..

I know, I know.. my ideas are "a bit out there". This thread was kinda well.. empty. So I thought I'd post a few ideas.. to spice things up.. I must admit.. I was also trying to get some laughs out of unsuspecting readers.. :p I know I was giggling like someone was tickling me while I was typing and picturing how it would all look.. :D

New subclass specific recipes. Something shiny and new for all crafters to make.

The ripe pomegranate spawns near the tree by the entrance to befallen in the commonlands. At least it did last time I checked!

Like the throw-able Fruitcakes around FF time, or the Dwarven Battle Bread? ;->

I like the house item idea, actually! How else are you gonna get good results for your backyard (and Vale) gardens (trust me, plants LOVE that sort of stuff!)? What else are you gonna put in the wheelbarrows? What else are you gonna pile up at the feet of our pontificating leaders' statues, when you do a break-out in Freeport or Qeynos housing (though I don't think you could "reach" the Harbor by breaking out, more's the pity)? ;->

Have it be like the Grassy Knoll of Fireflies, only instead of fireflies, just regular flies, and brownish instead of green. And the emote could be the "hands shaking" you get right after your character sneezes. ;->

who needs something like that for his "mucked out stables" bin... ;->

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the idea, per se. Just against anything that would make it more difficult (even marginally so) to get the updates you need from dens for the Gathering Obsession timeline. Dens are generally the reason that I want to choke the sh- life out of Qho by the time I'm done with it on a given character. o_O If there was another node that this item would make sense coming from, it would have my full support. (I could see maaaybe bushes.)

Well.. I did say if it were to take place it would be on April 1st (only that day).. and the chance of getting the pile of dung would be very rare. I don't see this affecting people.. who might decide to work on the Gathering Obsession quest for Qho on that particular day.. As for the node.. it should definitely be beast dens. It's the only node that would make sense to find something like that.. :p

This pomegranate, does it do something special? Can it be thrown or used in some way? Yet another thing to check out in this wonderful game! :p

Nope, it's just a cool house item for the kitchen. :)

It would be funny to have some sort of pretty jar or bottle and when you click examine something pops out of it to scare the you know what out of ya. But has to be on examine so people don't avoid your house like with the scare crow item.

Oh, amen! I have more than one of the stupid skeleton things that do the exact same zombie popup at random intervals; once is startling, twice is cute, but after 5-6 times in 15 minutes while trying to decorate, you start seriously thinking about feeding the stupid things to the riding bear house plushie. :-/

    True! ;->

And I think something like the hat suggestion or whatever that acted like a parachute would be cool if it would actually expand, poof out, whatever as it was kicking in to slow our falls, or if it acts as a flying "mount." ;->
