I was getting an error 11001 when I was trying to download the recent patch. From going through these forums I found the solution that somehow the proxy box in my internet options has been being reset each time I shut my computer down and now in order to download patches and use the internet at a good speed I need to manually uncheck that box every day. Someone had said that it is the e-rewards notification that is causing this and that to fix it permanently I need to unistall this but I do not know where this notification is. I have also run a virus scan and such and nothing came up saying that I had a malware infection on my computer. Please help manually unchecking this box every day is getting annoying. Thanks
I've been having the same problem. SOE support says it's AT&T. AT&T says it's SOE. I've pretty well given up ever downloading EQ2. Maybe you'll get an answer that can help me.
May be this will help. http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/disable-changing-proxy-settings-in-internet-explorer/ This uses the Group Policy Editor to prevent user changes to the proxy setting. I'd suggest changing the settings to how you want it to be before doing the above. You can Google "how to prevent changes to internet proxy settings in windows" for more results but they all pretty much use the same method.
You may also want to try to reset your Internet options by following these instructions: Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Click the Advanced Tab. On the Advanced Tab Afterward click Reset > Delete Personal Settings > and click Ok. Then go back on the Internet Options and on the advanced tab, scroll down to Security and un-check "Check Server Certificate Revocation" and "Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk" then click on Ok. If your issues persist please let us know and we will be happy to help!
