Sounds cool, but refresh my memory/enlighten me (since I don't think I've ever really known): what are DLCs?

Are services, character slots, SC, etc. included in the sale (I hope I hope I hope)? :)

I believe the DLC is referring to the Down Loadable Content.

This is a terrible special Daybreak. Where did the good deals of SOE go before Daybreak? I've been standing up for you guys telling everyone to give you guys a chance but I am very disappointed right now. First chance you guys get to show the people nothing has changed and things will keeping going on as they did before the purchase, and what do you guys? You change how the deals work?

On holidays like Memorial Day weekend, it would be discount on ALL items, not just select items. Including but not limited to Character slots and other services. Additionally there would pretty much always be some kind of XP bonus as well. So far no XP bonus has been announced and we are on Friday already. Additionally only a 20% discount? Wow.. really? This does not show to much loyalty to players, and does show signs of how Daybreak is going to be more the stingy version of SOE.

I have played this game from the get go, I love it obviously. I just wish that things like this didn't have to change when I see it serving no positive purpose and in fact, have more of a negative impact. Giving people encouragement to re-sub that haven't played in awhile would be a good idea. Have a discount on Subscribing during this time, let the discount count towards that's. Encourage people to buy more character slots, more characters mean more play time and playtime counting. Have this discount count towards Character Transfers. For the people who've been wanting to transfer a characters to a server for awhile that has more traffic(I am not one of these people, but I understand why this is a good idea. This will give them reason to not just stop playing).

XP weekend and special deals on Character slots is huge. U will have people buying character slots and PL'ing them and I bet LARGE number would. 50% of on character slots on a weekend like this would make a good amount of money for the game immediately, and over a extended period of time as people keep working on these newer characters.

Only a ten % bonus to the marketplace. Just wow.. seriously I do expect better from you Daybreak formerly known as SOE. Plenty of Vets and their families(of all countries honestly). The deals should at least somewhat match past history, and how important this holiday is. . By the current announcement, it shows me that past history is being ignored.

They always have been in the past. If Services aren't counted now that'd be a change. these are the times I ALWAYS have bought character slots. So if that's changed now, that'll be VERY disappointing.

Of course, if you are currently not an "all access" member, they aren't really interested in enticing you to spend some money in the cash shop.

    Interesting marketing.......

Kind of sad I was hoping for a good old double xp/ts/status weekend but 20% off Marketplace doesn't float my boat.

Dont think i am are ungreatful. Its just you guys make the most un-motivating offers to your most loyal supporters. You need to hire a professional marketing person or two. Make sure to check resume to be sure person actually studied how to market your type of product. Make it mandatory that they are subscribed and a member of EQ2. Part of the dutys of the marketing specialist should include playing 15 to 20 hours a week. I appricate that you try but so far my card is stayin in my wallet. Just MHO of course

Terrible sale...big whoop, an additional 10% off is fine but like most everyone was saying, compared to the standard sales that were used to its pretty lame.

I'd give DB a gimme this year. Right now they have their new investment owners breathing down their neck telling them how to do things. By this time next year DB might have a bit more control over their operations.

Or EQ2 could have a new owner as the investment brokers sell off the assets piecemeal. Ya never know.
  15. Spindle Well-Known Member

Well, haters gonna hate, Meirril; constantly, on each thread, cutting and pasting, etc. For reasons known only to them they want to see all the DBG employees out of work so they can feel like bigger people.

Those of us who still enjoy the game will continue to play and support the dev team as we can and wish.

Hmm, aren't the folks complaining about no dbl exp pretty much the same ones who gloat they can get any adventurer/crafter up to max level in a few hours?

Or the entire idea is to get people to sub and show the benefits of doing so. All signs point to the investment company wanting a steady flow of cash instead of big spikes. This means yearly xpacs being spread out over the year in DLC's and trying to get more subscribers.

Its that or something like loot chests you need cash keys to open that spam the zone every time someone opens one.

I swear, EQ2 players have to be some of the biggest misers in online gaming. Then again it might have been of their own making since when they went F2P they were FAR too generous.

yes 20% off to me doesn't really sound reasonable... bleh.. id rather have double ferrin...........

Honestly this is a big let down for the Memorial Day Holiday. How do you not have some bonus stuff going on in game. Draw some interest in to make people want to play and sub. To be honest, its pretty odd this is all Daybreak is going to promote for a long weekend / Holiday.
  19. Dumice New Member

Yeah, because double experience really takes money out of the DEV's pocket. Would seem that a double experience for members would possibly increase the money in the DEV's pocket from subscriptions.

better discount? when soe was in charge i remember when we just paid for expansions and adventure packs released inbetween expansions were FREE.. not no $15... I can just see there customer base dropping even more keeping up with these practices
