In my taste Atari 2600 is too simple and too little capable of console/computer. My first computer was vic-20 which is close to Atari with its processing power and memory. Propably even better? I have played my childhood games with real vic-20, but even 15 years ago nostalgia went off very soon. People always say that graphics and other things doesnt matter when game is good, but those very early machines just werent good enough for good enough games (no typo).
No. (edit: Hell no) Atari is nothing like it was decades ago. That hardware will likely data mine cryptocurrencies while running a MAME on the front end. Yeah, especially since it's a streaming kitty litter box. http://mamedev.org/release.html https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...game-maker-atari-is-now-a-cryptocurrency-play https://gizmodo.com/atari-is-launching-a-cryptocurrency-because-thats-just-1823042620 I used to have the PS2 CDs of the anthologies, played once and never again.
I would get one, but not for the price they want. I have one of the cheap ones they have been selling over the past few years. We only played it during Xmas, when I got it. Haven't opened it since. It would be fun to play some of those old games from time to time, but not that often.
