The BOP Green scaling gear maxes out at 259, the Wonder verse green scaling gear is at 258 shouldn't that be set a higher max level? I do not remember having to go back and play old content with my alts before to get into relevant range. Which seems to be the only way unless I grind out days worth of either for the enhanced purple gear. My alt is CR 298 all but one piece of my gear is cr 259 or higher it's annoying to have to go back to old content to fix this.
It's because your alt is 298 you need to be 299. Use the quark vendor avatar gear will scale with your cr and not by content
Minimum for the episode is 299, so you're getting event drops, if you want to get to 299 fast i suggest you buy some gear from Equipment Specialist Kassandra, she sells the Enhanced gear which is kinda cheaper than the regular one (which is sold right next to her) except it costs some aether too, both sets scale up to 262
What Zamara said. I'd like to add that most of Time Capsule gear scales up to 262 and usually gets higher level than green/blue/purple pieces. If you can get your hands on any of it, Amazonian Conqueror from new Flashpoint TC and Avatar Bombardier from quark vendor scale to 272. So if you're 298, it should scale to 264. You can use Odyssey's CR Calculator to see what gear level you'll get. Plus, Vault green gear scales up to 260 now.
I do get that but shouldn't the event gear make it possible to get into relevancy withouth having to go to old content or spend days grinding either for the purple gear? Also dropping lower max gear then the previous content seems odd. Not talking about a large difference here just would have expected green gear to be dropping as max 260 and blue 261. My character is at level now as I just went back to BOP did the weeklys and bought two pieces of gear but for free players that don't have the option to go back to old content something seems not right with the max level.
event gear is higher in WV, purple gear in bop for event was 250. Purple gear in event is 260 far as max cr.
Each new dlc has 2 sets of gear drops, event drops and owner drops, to get the owner drops you need to own the content (or be a member) and have at least the entry CR for that dlc, to get the event drops all you need is to be at level 10 (or 15? i think they changed it recently). For the last 2 dlcs these drops were like this: BOP (Entry CR 287) Event: Green=248 Blue=249 Purple=250 (Full sets of each type give you 285, 286 and 287 respectively) Regular: Green=259 Blue=261 Purple=263 (Full sets of these put you at 298, 300 and 302 each) Wonderverse (Entry CR 299) Event: Green 258 Blue=259 Purple=260 (Full sets give 297, 298 and 299) Regular: Green=269 Blue=271 Purple=273 (Full sets get you to 309, 312 and 314) BTW the actual CR may vary for the regular drops cause i'm using the CR calc to get the values and idk if it rounds up past .6 or not. Event drops always get you to the entry level but you have to earn the full set of purples. There's always TC gear to cheese your way up or the purple boxes from the event vendors or there's always the Avatar Bombardier boxes you can buy for quarks, those are always 1 item level below the max level drops. The issue you were seeing was that you went into wonderverse without having the minimum CR and were getting event drops, that's why the gear seemed lower from your perspective. Did you have a heavy weight piece of green gear by chance? like the chest, weapon or legs, those have the higher values when calculating your CR and could've been why your CR wasn't high enough.
