GU50, Tunso Testing, and Player Testing

    Is there a trick to getting a league hall? I created a lair, placed some items, and activated my generator/mainframe, then re-entered my lair-- but I only got about 100 prestige for it, and all the league hall locations cost 25000.

    Grab a few of the gear boxes and tribute the gear right next to the teleporter in the watchtower/hall of doom.

    On PC Test, grab some base decoration boxes from the PC Test vendors. Place about 30 items in a base. Walk out. Create a league. Walk in. On PC Test they drastically scaled up the rewards for having base decorations. You'll be at max.

    You may have to disband and recreate your league if you already created it. Having a league of one for baseline toons is ideal to not share targets or have someone buy progiciencies underneath you.

    Thank you for the response Sore. I'm not thinking about testing for dev power "balancing", which I agree makes sense on PC test. I'm just thinking of myself and other players on live that want to test and compare loadouts and rotations. I would like to do my testing without having the CR differential formula take effect, so I would like to have the same CR as the sparring target.

    Once all the data is collected, the optimal loadouts and rotations need to be shared with the community in a Guide that cannot be posted to, etc..

    This way, the info would be available for all.

    What are you thoughts on having these guides?

    It doesn't sounds like a bad idea but it also sounds like a lot of herding cats. I've included the loadouts and rotations for all my tests. I can't say everyone else has done the same. Right now I'm trying to get everyone to stay energized on the testing effort, e.g. we still need Earth and Sorcery Tunso Tests for after the update. I'm worried about asking testers to put in more effort at risk of turning off those that are contributing / have contributed.

    I would hold off on such request until testing is completed for round 1; baseline. Than create baseline top DPS guide. Which should not really change once scaling is put into play.

    I'll work on Sorcery and Earth later today. I tested Sorcery a bit and the parser numbers were quite high from what I saw.

    I think they intentionally went over the baseline because of how pet damage doesn't scale from baseline. It's almost like a slight dip into phase 2 ahead of time. But still, I think we need to collect the numbers at melee and range so we have something on paper.

    I belIeve you're right. I'm very curious to see where sorc and earth sit in the baseline group. Judging by live I am guessing about a +8% of baseline. But as you said that baseline is maximum am potential.

    Ultimately it's over the base. It may need a small reduction.
    Phase 2 for Sorcery really should include a percentage scalar to the powers used after Offering/Fortify. But that's only to see where and how they all scale. That way WM and AM are both options amd it opens up both trees for both powers.

    Since Karasawa is doing Sorcery and Earth, I guess my numbers will not be needed.

    From what I understand this testing method doesnt use mods, right? So Pets have to be over the top by default as they wont be affected by your mods that you put on later. If its equal to a non-pet powerset in this testing method it will perform weaker in a real environment with modding, buffs (supply, soders, etc) as your pet won't benefit much from it.

    As long pets dont get their benefits from your stats/buffs instead of your CR pet powersets will always be imbalanced throughout the entire content compared to non-pet powersets.

    Also pets can die in content (Lashina, anyone?!) while you remain alive which puts a further disparity between other powersets since a pet recall comes with a hugh downtime of power regain for the pet (I do understand the necessary of it because of the glitch and glad its fixed). So we have a unique AM that can actually "die" without a players death.

    Elusian is correct. The pets have purposely been tuned higher to compensate for the lack of scaling with mods and SP compared to other powersets.

    You certainly shouldn't accept any results from the live servers. I looked into that and it's complexity madness.

    There are a lot of reasons to duplicate the tests on live though. Self-improvement and validating the test results are achievable on the real servers are both useful goals. Finding mismatches between test and live can be useful too. I wouldn't reject making the tests easier to duplicate on live as a useless goal, even though those results can't go directly into your testing effort.

    I still need range tests for Sorcery and Earth but I'd almost prefer anyone submitting a result to cover both melee and range when they do so that the results are from the same person.

    I knew they would have to over buff pets to make then usable but damn. This graph along with the duo destruction pets cause I see nerf cries coming shortly when truth is they are just on par in actual gameplay

    Since they are getting preemptive with the scaling concerns, I'm trying to milk them for the scaling methodology/math behind how they approached where they set the mark for Sorcery/Earth. It would help community reaction and expectations coming up.

    Since the rebalancing it taking quite some time and some powers get to run loose. How would the community feel if I proposed to disable mid-range/melee bonuses (on live server only) until it gets properly taken care of?
    EMP for gadgets would be disabled, arctic gust for ice disabled, fireburst for fire disabled, fury/crystal receive no bonuses if player is in the 12.5m range and so on.
    In my opinion it seems kind of unfair to allow some powers to run wild for an extensive amount of time whilst they are being worked on.
    Whilst range damage isn't Even Steven it certainly is more balanced than melee (or midrange for some powersets).

    Sorcery and earth weren't really fixable without starting into scaling. Maybe we ate at the very start of phase 2 abd it made sense to start there. Nature elec hl celestial are also not fixable without touching into scaling. Pretty much anything with major contributions if multiple damage sources can't be baseline alone.

    And while sorc abd earth will need to be touched again this should good for a few months. Looking at the chart they can easily bring up the baseline off the remaining powers while going into the mental rework into regen abd whatever what needs the most scaling help
